I explained to server I was celiac/gluten “allergy” and need to avoid cross contamination so I do not become sick. The staff was knowledgeable and able to answer questions. I was in New Orleans for work for a week and ate here twice. Items are marked as gluten free on menu. My food was delicious.
Not to be trusted around gluten and cross contamination. Too bad - it’s a very cute restaurant with great prices for happy hour small plates. We had wine and I got the fig & prosciutto plate. Asked for no crackers. The server brought me the plate with crackers which, she assured me, the chef told her were gluten free. She said she double checked and was told yes, they are gluten free. I’d had a glass of wine and didn’t want to make a scene, so I ate them. 5 hours later, I’m home and feeling sick in that distinct way. Didn’t eat anything else out of the house today, so it must’ve been this. I don’t think the server was lying, but either the chef doesn’t know what gluten is, or there is serious cross contamination in the kitchen. Avoid the food here if you have celiac or serious intolerance.
Came here for brunch, cannot say enough wonderful things. Don’t miss this place on your trip, encourage a reservation (they are on open table). We had the Brussels sprouts and the Cochon and grits. Their menu is clearly marked and has opens to satisfy anyone. Definitely recommend.
Loved it so much at lunch we went back for dinner. Ordered 2 of the carrot dish. Chicken and the steak were both great. The kitchen did a pretty good job. My husband is extremely sensitive celiac and they did accidentally put potatoes fried in cross contaminated oil on his plate. We asked about it before he ate any. I would still go back
Went for happy hour into dinner. Priced well, delicious food. GF bread for the burger crumbled apart as I ate it, but it was still delicious. It’s also a very cute place. Everyone was extremely accommodating (I.e., split an appetizer with bread on the side and confirmed they’d order the main plate celiac safe) and knowledgeable.
Went for a large work gathering. Lots of GF options. Roasted Brussels sprouts and wrapped dates are a must! They were cooked so perfectly. Actually had to pass on some of the food that our group had pre ordered because I was beyond full. Great laid back atmosphere with elevated food. C’est Si Bon!!!
Honestly this place is a MUST! There are so many amazing gluten free options and they are clearly labeled on the menu. I ate the bacon dates, the goat cheese grits, the grilled cheese crawfish on gf bread, the buratta, the salad, the carrots, and Brussels sprouts. Everything was outstanding. The waitress was very aware of what was gf and checked everything with the cook. I felt very safe eating here and left very full and very happy!
