I was recently diagnosed with Celiac. Before my diagnosis, my boyfriend and I loved this place for their omelettes, breakfast sandwiches, and breakfast skillets. I have been venturing out and contacting some of my favorite local joints to see if they have any gluten-free options. While this place does not offer much in the way of gluten-free breakfast, they do offer omelettes that they can prepare gluten free. I specifically asked if their omelettes are thickened with flour or anything else and was told they are not, they just use eggs and whatever other ingredients you ask for in the omelette. I told the cashier that I have a severe gluten allergy (easier to say than explaining celiac, and restaurants tend to understand allergies and their severity so it makes communicating my needs easier). I asked if they could please make my omelette in a freshly-washed pan and change their gloves before preparing my food. I also specified to not include toast or home fries, just the omelette. The cashier I spoke with on the phone, Colleen, was extremely kind and accommodating. She told me the chef would prepare my food as instructed and she would let them know of my severe gluten allergy. When I received my food, the box and receipt were marked with “severe gluten allergy” in several places. This made me feel like they really took my concerns seriously. 4 out of 5 stars because my experience with the staff was great, but they don’t have many options.
