They advertise you can have any of their sandwiches on a gluten free bun. My grandson who has Celiac disease ordered the Ruben sandwich. He had gut wrenching pain from eating that sandwich. He was traveling that day so hadn’t eaten anywhere else. The meal at Cornwells was the only food he had before he got sick. My other grandson who is also gluten intolerant had the turkey meal and had no problems.
The restaurant is a nice restaurant and the other food is great. They have a nice gift shop and also sell ice cream cones and fudge in a little shop. I just would t rather again with anyone who needs gluten free food without being more clear how important it is for the staff to avoid cross contamination.
We stopped in while travelling based on some find me GF reviews. They had several items on the menu specifically listed as gluten free as well as the ability to make sandwiches gluten free. I had the summer turkey salad and my son did a turkey grilled cheese and an order of mashed potatoes. Then he got some chocolate, vanilla and strawberry ice cream in a cup. I opted for some fudge (basic gluten free ingredients in the plain flavors). Great find in the country and if you prefer camping in their campground.
It was really good except I called ahead of time to make sure that the food was gluten free which it was but they told me on the phone that all sandwiches can be made into gf with a gf bun But after we ordered they came out & said they didn't have the gf bub they were out 😢 So they gave us extra mashed potatoes
