Good pizza. And they deliver. Expensive, but no more so than other GF pizza.
I only wont give this location 5 stars because it isnt a dedicated gf facility, but of note those places dont exist in this area. I have been going here for over 5 years and not only have they been great, but honest too. They have said the only possible cc is in the oven, but they do try to do the gf stuff separate if they can so that you do have to be aware of and ask about. They have bread and pizza here and its pretty damn good too. I was also told by the owner in the past as this used to be my go to lunch place for over a year too because they were located close to my workplace...i had plwnty of chances to communicate with them....anyway he said the absolute safest thing for a celiac to order there is their subs as even in the oven those are wrapped in foil. Their subs are like a big airy pita bread that is gf rather than a sub bun and i highly recommend their italian sub as that is the best sub. Sooooo good. Having this place around is awesome and I've had a very long term relationship with them. Highly recommend. Of note....i have tried other locations. They are NOT like this one. This review is very much only for thos location alone.
Well, I'd eaten here a few times and felt fine. (Gluten free pizza with cheese only topping). Then I felt sick several times and suspected glutening but wasn't sure. Then I did a Nima test on their pizza after not eating there awhile and it showed no gluten found. So I ate those, felt fine. Ate a few more over the next weeks, felt fine. Then last night I ate one and woke feeling very very ill. Swollen jaw, messed up stomach, "D", etc - this has been ALL day with no let up. I tested the leftovers with the Nima and it showed "Gluten detected." So NO, I would not recommend. Someone didn't follow the protocol and cross contaminated the pizza. It could be from the cheese, or using the same utensils or not changing gloves. Don't eat here if you have Celiac disease or can not eat gluten. Sadly.
Apart from one time, every time I eat this pizza I get sick. D and other symptoms. It always looks almost burnt and is very thin and a very small/shriveled looking. It tastes just okay. I'm more concerned that I am getting cross contaminated. I'm getting a Nema tester soon and want to test one to see. I won't eat one again though. I've had them about 6 or 7 times and every time apart from the first I got these bad to very bad reactions.
I am always happy to treat myself with cottage inn, Westland. One of the Best gluten free options around! I've tried the gf pizza, the gf Italian sandwich and the gf garlic cheese bread(MUST HAVE GARLIC CHEESE BREAD). I recommend pick up instead of delivery because when the cheese is hot and melty you just can't beat this food! I tell them I have celiac disease and ask them to change gloves and use clean utensils every time I call. They are always happy to serve & I've never gotten sick. Plus the pizza toppings are the freshest!
excellent gluten free pizza and cheesy garlic bread. we called with a couple of questions, and the young lady we spoke to was very friendly and helpful. placed our order online and got delivery in less than half an hour by an equally friendly young man. gluten free pizzas are baked in the trays they're delivered in - so no worries about cross-contamination while baking. we'll definitely be ordering again on our next trip through.
Have gf pizza and bread sticks! They taste great! I will avoid this place during rush times, I've made that mistake and gotten sick once. However they give this disclaimer that they do what they can to make sure no cross contamination but, it happens. Any Celiac makes that gamble when earring out.
I've had pizza here many times, and have never gotten sick. I always ask them to wash hands and surfaces. Quality, however, has dropped terribly over the years. The crust has become terribly bad, while the rest of the industry has improved significantly.
This is our "usual" pizza place and have no reactions, we've eaten here dozens of times. They do warn that cross contamination could occur, but GF pizza goes through the oven on it's own aluminum foil pan that goes home with you. Please do be warned it could happen, don't be afraid to ask questions.
Best gluten free pizza I have tasted since discovering my allergy! No cardboard crust, or harder-than-a-jawbreaker crust at Cottage inn! The gf pizza, AND cheese bread, were both baked on a foil pan to prevent cross contaminating the food on shared pans. We will return for sure!
