Excellent food. Excellent service. They've got a really nice patio. Came here twice on our vacation. The crepes, themselves, have a good flavor. Our friends who don't eat GF loved their food, as well. The fresh squeezed orange juice is delicious. Owner is very friendly. We will be back.
Went here years ago and was so excited to try it again now that I live here! I had a savory breakfast crepe last time, today I tried sweet. The perfection crepe, gluten free. The strawberries were not sweet, so it soured the sweet savory crepe. I’m hoping that when I comeback, the other sweet ones will be better. But the staff is awesome! Super friendly and helpful. The owner is awesome!
I went to the counter and asked if the GF batter advertised on their website was for people just choosing to be GF or if they accounted for cross contamination. The guy working the register said, "We treat every GF order as if it is for someone with celiac disease." I knew I'd be okay then. It was fantastic and no reaction.
Really enjoyed eating here. Great choice of sweet or savoury pancakes. They asked if I was celiac or just intolerant. There was only one pancake that wasn't available gluten free. I had a savoury option and it really was a full meal. Sat outside it was a lovely experience. Great staff really made you feel welcome. Highly recommend
Incredible restaurant! My 12-year old daughter had been bemoaning her inability to ever taste a crepe in her entire life. I found Crepe Expectations on the Diners, Drive-ins, and Dives website and noted that they served GF crepes. I made it a point to visit them while we were in Las Vegas. The crepes were magnificent, the staff was fantastic, and the experience was fabulous! They use a dedicated crepe griddle (?) and you can watch your crepe being made via live stream television. My daughter and I went twice, bringing my husband along for the second trip. I had the sweet crepes both times (blueberries/lemon curd and a buttered pears/goat chees/walnuts combo). My daughter tried a sweet one day (strawberry/chocolate) and a savory the second day (grilled chicken/mozzarella/tomato/basil) the second day. I believe they made some adjustment on the savory crepe to ensure that it was GF. Everything was delicious and now I am bemoaning the fact that we do not live nearby because I am craving some more crepes! (And it goes without saying that we did not get sick.)
So nice to have a huge menu to choose from. GF crepe itself is bland, but the fillings make up for it. I tried to ask about how cross contamination is handled, but was kind of blown off with "honey, we get 30 celiacs here every day." Okay....but I'd still like to know your process. Nevertheless, we didn't get sick.
Almost everything here can be made GF! Everything we got was AMAZING. I shared a Little Italy, the pear and Gorgonzola, and then the Nutella and all of them were unique and completely delicious, and most importantly GF. The chef and owner chatted with us for a long time- what great guys! I will be back every time I'm in Vegas.
Great place! Owner very knowledgeable about GF, Celiac and cross contamination. All items except the crepe with carne asada can be modified to be GF. I love this place, we go in at least once a week. I managed to sneak in twice this week. Take a friend and share a couple crepes. It's hard to decide between sweet and savory so have both. Personal favorites: Veggie, lox (cream cheese and house smoked salmon), Ana Banana Foster, and the San Franciscan (blueberries and lemon curd). Try out the drinks too, you can't go wrong.
Amazing! I had the GF berry crepe. My husband had the bananas foster. And my son had the apple. They all got GF so I could try them. Apple was the best, then banana then berry. The warm compote made the GF crepe taste the best. So glad we came while on vacation!
Gluten Free Heaven! I would give it 10 stars if I could. My gluten free bananas foster was amazing and husband tried the regular version of The Monterey. Both were great and we will be back again often. Restaurant looks great inside and out and everyone was very friendly. Their complimentary cucumber water was good too. Price was very good. So glad we found this place
Observations 1) The owner very knowledgable 2) the interior design nightclubish. It's dark as hell and it's a crepe place? Off the mark. 3) rice flour crepes are rubbery. Buckwheat is a traditional French ingredient for crepes. It is a non gluten (fruit flour, it's not wheat). The owner implied he was not able to obtain a contaminate free supply (I know it's available and excellent) so I was very disappointed this was not offered at least as an option. The owner noted buckwheat has gluten. It does not. I enjoyed GF buckwheat crepes all through France last summer with zero problems. The texture would be fine and light. I found the rice flour rubbery and sadly I didn't not finish the meal.
Owner was awesome - sat at the seats in front of cooking window...went way out of their way to clean platen three times, use special batter that had no cross-contamination, and washed hands/changed gloves. All this for the possible contamination by one menu item. I am impressed!!!!
awesome!! the owner talked to me about his best friend who is celiac anaphylaxis. And how he knows all about it. everything is made GF with the exception of 1 item. I don't recall which item that is. I had 3 GF crepes. They were Sooooo good. I'm visiting our if state and leave in 2 days. I'm going back tomorrow to eat again before I leave. It was so good and I feel safe there knowing he's got the knowledge of celiac. Toy have to try this place out. awesome!!!
This restaurant has unbelievable staff who really go the extra mile when you tell them you have celiac or even if you are just gluten intolerant! They are so nice and make you feel completely comfortable about asking, not to mention their food is unbelievable! I highly recommend them :)
