A friend of mine worked here in the kitcheb and said it’s really not safe for celiacs. The fryer isn’t separate, there is a small bakery and beer brewing, hard to avoid cross-contamination.

Hi Carla,

I'm not sure who gave this information to you as it is 100% inaccurate. We are the first certified gluten free restaurant in Canada and the only certified one in Nova Scotia. We are certified through the gluten free food program in partnership with the Canadian celiac association.

All of our food is gluten free and all of our drinks (besides a few beers on tap that is kept separate from all food is gluten free). The gluten free food program is aware of the beers on tap and allows us to have them as we are following proper protocol for ensuring no cross contamination. I'm not sure what you are referring to when saying our fryer is contaminated as we use gluten free beer in our fish and chip batter. We do not brew our own beer, nor have we ever brewed our own beer at the restaurant. We also aren't a bakery, but a restaurant that also bakes gluten free deserts in house.

We are completely safe for those with celiac and other allergies/intolerances. If you ever have any questions or concerns you are more than welcome to reach out to us, but I urge you to do your research instead of taking word from someone that is giving false information.

My wife is celiac, and when she saw the menu she said she didn't know what to do. Everything was available to her! She had a pasta dish that was fantastic, and then a London Fog CAKE for dessert. I am not restricted, and even so the fish and chips were excellent. As was the molasses cookie.

We had the best meal here!!! I am celiac and traveling with friends who are not and we all had amazing meals! It was so lovely to not worry about anything and to be able to taste what others were having as well rather than just what I specially ordered. We would eat here again in a heartbeat! The staff was very friendly and we happened upon an evening with music on the deck so it was extra-awesome!

This place is a dream for celiacs. The owner and staff are as nice as the food is good! I pinch myself that I can relax and not be worried about getting sick! This is my top choice always!
