I am sooooo grateful to have this gem in Durham! They are so educated and patient to take you through what’s safe. Celiac friends will have appetizer options, meal options and dessert options. INCREDIBLE. My question to you is why are you still reading this review?? GO GET YOURSELF SOME FOOD HERE ALREADY!!!!!
Delicious. My daughter has Celiac so we also get gf so she can try other choices. We picked 3 different pastas and her favorite was the one with the clams in it. I got the spicy red sauce which was also good. Ordered the mushroom appetizer but had to hold on the bread/ toast that was served with it. Still very tasty.
I have celiac. I had a really good experience here. I attended a private dinner put on by my business. The menu was family style – shared plates around the table – which always makes me nervous. I discussed GF with the waiter before the food came to the table. Item by item, he was able to tell me what was safe and what was not. A couple dishes they had to prepare separately. Everything he said reflected good knowledge of safety and separate preparation. My impression is that it was safe and the chefs and waitstaff very capable. I tend not to react if I am exposed, but in any case I had no reaction. Overall, I was very impressed. The food was delicious.
Wow!!! I am still drooling after the pasta carbonara. I have never had it so perfectly prepared. I’m exquisitely sensitive to gf & hubs can eat anything. We have a gf house except for beer or if there is a potluck and people bring Muggle food. He loves to cook and has been delving into gf since 2009 . He gets frustrated when all I get served is a vegan cauliflower steak or steamed veggies when gf is not that hard. All that to say that as a Muggle he said the pasta was insanely good as was the gf breading on the butter chicken (not the Indian version!). We couldn’t resist the flourless chocolate torte and vanilla gelato for dessert. All just fantastic! There was no gf bread but the baked cheese appetizer with pesto was delicious with a fork! The menu has markings for GF and AGF (available gf), for DF and ADF, V and AV, and I believe nuts and fish allergies as well (forgot to take a picture!) - a scheduling note! He looked on Open Table via the website and there were no openings until during the DPAC show we were attending. He called Thursday evening but no answer so left a voicemail. Then late afternoon on Friday he got a text via Open Table confirming our 5:30 reservation! There were available tables for most of the time we were there so don’t give up if OT doesn’t have something! We were sat at a bar height private table for two of which there were several so because my back gets bad I’ll ask for a regular table if available next time. It’s the only thing I would change… except maybe taking home some carbonara!!
Delicious!! Four of us had gf pasta dishes, all were amazing. My husband was still hungry when we left after an appetizer and entree that he thought was too small but I was full after only an entree. I got the spicy vodka rigatoni - can’t wait to go back! It was a little spicy but nothing terrible.
