Bun was served sealed and burger was served in a separate box. Not our favorite bun, it seemed dense and large. I requested fresh custard be made from the machine, the employee scooped it with a new plastic spoon and served it on a separate tray than the other custards in my order. Happy with the dining experience.
Great experience! Got a gluten free burger and mashed potatoes no gravy with a root beer float. It was delicious. They're well informed on GF. Indicated it on my receipt as well. Will be back!
Great burgers and a gluten free bun! Always comes out in a separate package! The manager did advise me that they fryer is shared so the fries are not safe!!!!
Staff was very courteous and when the employee was not sure if mashed potatoes were safe or not, he got out the menu and looked it up right in front of me. I got a kids meal with a cheeseburger and no bun and mashed potatoes with butter.
Great burgers on gluten free buns! Also GF sides available and frozen custard . Very clean and family friendly .
The young lady was so helpful and understanding as I am recently diagnosed Celiac. She directed me to a flyer of their allergy information by the drinks and ketchup counter. I got a burger and gluten free bun. Gluten free bun was delicious. Too much bun for me though so I took the top half home to enjoy with a sandwich at home :) The lady also recommended a lemon ice with fruit (I picked raspberry) it was so good! She said another woman who comes in frequently gets it and likes it. It was very refreshing. Sioux Center Culver’s is top notch service.
The gluten free menu is slim, but it's one of the few places with gluten free buns (Udi's). Per their website (May 2019): "*Culver's Restaurants are not gluten-free environments. While we take special precautions to prevent cross-contact, the possibility exists for food items to come in contact with other food products during preparation and cooking procedures. Please alert staff to your gluten-free needs." However, they also note that the GF hamburger buns are warmed and served separately so it seems there would be a much lower chance of being accidentally glutened.
Staff has no clue how to provide a sandwich with a gluten free bun. They brought me a regular bun and when I told them they made a mistake and my sandwich needed to be redone, they brought it out with a bun, but the contents of the sandwich had condiments on it, which tells me they just pulled it off the original bread. Not friendly for gluten free/Celiac's!!
Really impressed with the steps taken to get a truly gf burger. They also have a brochure with all allergy/health information. Some salads, soup and custards are gluten free, I usually stick with the burgers though. Green beans, coleslaw or mashed potatoes seem safe, I've tried them all but stick with the beans. Now if we could get a dedicated fryer and some gf cheese curds.....
I went into here with my father, and asked for some fries with my burger( I couldn’t eat a bun) because it said on the website they had a dedicated gluten-free fryer, and they said they didn’t have one! It said they did on their website. We were very disappointed with their website and the editors that work for corporate.
Chris the manager took my order and prepared my meal himself. He was careful to avoid cross contamination and a warm gluten free bun was served in a sealed wrapper. All I did was put everything together and I had an awesome burger, side of coleslaw and a drink. Great service/good food/ reasonable cost! Highly recommend
stopped in with my son. Talked to 3 people behind the counter until I felt someone understood the Allergy alert/GF. I asked for GF lettuce wrapped burger and fries. When food was delivered, regular cheeseburger with fries resting on the burger and a side container of shredded lettuce. She then offered to take my burger to the kitchen and "take the burger off the bun" for me. staff is clearly not trained in GF
Always good with taking cross contamination seriously-even in drive through. Hubby (highly sensitive) gets the fries and has never had any issues.
Culver’s has the best gluten free bun ever and they heat it in a separate package for you. The have a great nutritional brochure. However, the hamburger patties are not gluten free, but they will sell you a bun. I usually get a chick fil a grilled chicken patty (their buns are terrible) and go next door to Culver’s and buy a bun for it. They are always very nice and accommodating! The brochure says they have plenty of soups and other items gluten free.
Went there with my daughter today and asked questions (again, always, never taking for granted a place is guaranteed safe) and the manager told me that they’ve changed their gf requirements. They only offer gf buns as a gf safe option but do not and will not eliminate cc from the prep line or get condiments/toppings from the cooler. They MAY change their gloves but that doesn’t stop any cc from before. Additionally, he said that even though the patties are cooked on a separate grill, they take the top bun and cook it on the patty for a moment before finishing the burgers, therefore enhancing the risk of cc from the buns on the meat grill.
I love this place! I have never been sick once from eating here. The fact that they have a gluten free bun that is accessible through a drive thru is amazing. Their burgers are great, and I love the fries (which are made in a dedicated fryer). Not to mention the vanilla custard and milkshakes. You can’t go wrong!
they have gluten free buns for their burgers..they have an online allergy menu. i told front register person that my burger was for an allergy..it came up on the register screen..fantastic..... I am only giving four stars because they do not have gluten free fries.
Gluten free buns, and they don’t assemble the sandwich for you which makes me feel much safer! The inside of sandwich comes separately. I don’t risk the fries because I’ve gotten different feedback about them but I love the mashed potatoes without gravy. Most staff is pretty good about it, they ask if it’s allergy or preference.
**NOT** Celiac***Trustworthy**at THIS location; Dispute having gluten free bread, and salads. We ordered a Cashew Chicken salad and specified that we have a “medical gluten allergy.” We were given a salad covered with croutons. Checking our receipt, we saw “! Food Allergy! Gluten” (afterwards, we also saw we had been given a “Grilled Chicken salad - not what we ordered). My wife took it to the front counter while we sat in the far part of the dining area. We could hear the Crew Leader speaking loud enough at my wife for us to hear her. My wife said she “felt like a fool” as the C.L. told her that it it was (my wife’s) responsibility to explain to the “kids” what gluten free means, and to specify what should be left off an order. The reason was that “the kids don’t know what gluten free means.”We were given a replacement salad. This is not indicative of our experiences at other Culver locations around the state.
They have an incredible gf hamburger bun and the fries are gluten free and tasty as well! I’ve eaten here several times and have never been disappointed. The staff is knowledgeable about their menu ingredients! I haven’t asked if they have a dedicated kitchen but will inquire next visit!
I looked so forward to eating here as I have heard nothing but great about this place. We walked in and went up to the counter and inquired about if the place was gluten-free. The girl said yes we have gluten-free buns. I inquired about the fries the fries are cooked in the same oil as gluten products. I didn’t even give it a chance I walked right back out that door. Very very disappointed
Been here several times with no reaction. I’m very sensitive to cross contamination. Fries are NOT in dedicated fryer. I don’t order them. But if you tell them you need a GF bun due to allergy, your order gets flagged. They seem to be knowledgeable and my meat comes in it’s own container with a sealed bun that’s pretty tasty.
I love their burgers and grilled chicken sandwiches. They have a GF bun sealed in its own wrapper. They also have a pot roast sandwich that is GF. Their green beans, coleslaw, and mashed potatoes no gravy are all GF. You need to ask on their fries, some locations have a designated fryer for fries but I know the W. Melbourne location does not. Their custard is also GF. They are really cautious when fixing your food and you let them know about your GF needs. They do have a GF list of foods they can give you if you ask for it.
The staff was helpful and double checked everything for me. I was told their custard bases are GF and just the toppings are not GF (depends on the topping). they have GF buns and will give you everything separately so you can assemble yourself. they have a dedicated fryer for fries but it is right next to the fryer for the cheese curds and has the possibility for cc.
Gluten free buns in sealed packaging - they microwave it and leave it sealed. You get the sandwich contents (cheeseburger for me) in a separate box and assemble it yourself. Seems like a solid way for a fast food place to minimize cross contamination. The server was very knowledgeable - asked preference vs allergy. No dedicated fryer, so skip the fries.
The managers seem to be well-trained re: needed protocols for producing food safely. GF buns are a little tough so we opt for no-bun w extra lettuce. Ask and they’ll run a fresh supply of frozen custard for a RICH root beer float. Regrettably, the fries are prepared in a common fryer so “no” to those. Make sure you get a manager’s attention for your order though...they seem very attentive.
Very friendly staff, familiar with celiac. GF buns for burgers and dedicated fries for fries. They will not guarantee no cross contamination, but my celiac daughter has eaten here several times and loved the fries. They have never given her any reaction.
