This place is incredible!! I think it’s the best gluten free restaurant of any kind I’ve been to ever! I ordered the meatballs, pasta with truffle sauce, and the crème brule and tiramisu for desert, all of which were phenomenal! The gluten free bread was also fantastic. The gluten free menu includes basically all the items on the regular menu including hard to find items like meatballs and bruschetta. I will be returning to Florence for this restaurant!!

The food was delicious and service was excellent! Just as previous reviews mentioned, they asked if we needed gluten free as soon as we got there, and there were a lot of options (basically the whole regular menu was also in the gf one). We only had a few hours in Florence - so after much research - we decided to spend our one dinner at Da Garibardi and we were not disappointed!

This was probably my favourite meal in our two week stay in Italy!

As soon as we sat down, the waiter asked if we needed a GF menu and immediately I felt at ease about eating here.

The GF options were extensive and I felt like a kid in a candy shop.

We started with GF bruschetta and the whole table agreed that it was the best we’ve ever eaten (even those who could eat gluten!)

I had the ravioli next, followed by panna cotta for dessert. It was all so delicious!

As an added bonus, the aperol spritz was sensational.

This would have to be the best food we've had throughout our whole European trip and we've had some great food. Separate GF menu which pretty much covers the whole menu and they have gluten reduced (GF here) Peroni, although we just drank Lemonchello Spritz the whole time. Food was really good but I loved how proactive and allergen conscious the entire staff were. Immediately when we arrived we were asked if we wanted the “gluten free or normal menu?”. Great food for both celiac and non members of our family. So good we went back 3 times in 3 days!! Everything could be made GF and we couldn’t tell the difference between GF and non-GF pasta. I came here based on the reviews and I'm shocked. This is the worst restaurant I've been to in Italy, by far. I ordered the gnocchi and even though the texture is better than horrible (5 out of 10) there is zero flavor whatsoever. The bread they brought out before the meal tastes of cardboard. The only good thing about this place is the bottled water. I'm literally in awe of the positive reviews, and I can usually find some redeeming factor anywhere, but not here. Even the light was blindingly bright. The server was friendly, so I guess there's that.

amazing! i got the meatballs as the paper i we and gluten free ravioli as the main. they had so many options. gf bread felt like it should’ve been toasted but appreciate it was there and the waiter specifically washed his hands to bring it out. giving it 4/5 taste stars because i have had better experiences with gf bread and ravioli

The food here was fine, and though it is certified by the Italian celiac association, I got glutened here for the first time after a month in Italy. I've had better experiences at places that weren't certified so I'm pretty disappointed! There are definitely restaurants with better food that won't get you sick.

We ate here on a Saturday night and the restaurant was packed with Italian families ordering bistecca alla fiorentina. It looked and smelled so good we have vowed to go back and order it, even though trying to eat that much beef would probably kill us!

My husband ordered delicious gluten-y things, and I had the gf ribollita (a thick soup made mostly of beans and dried bread, served with a good drizzle of olive oil and gf bread on the side for dipping) and the pici al cinghiale (really cool Tuscan noodles with a wild boar ragù, a tasty and typical local dish).

The food was excellent (I still can’t believe those pici!!) and the atmosphere as non-touristy as you can imagine. (They did have an English language menu, and the staff understood English, but they spoke Italian to us and we did our best to speak it back). Dress was casual but very chic; this is Italy, after all!

Overall, a great spot to eat excellent, AIC-accredited traditional Tuscan food. I recommend making a reservation, because the place is very popular (our reservation was for 7:15, which is quite early in Italy, but the place filled up quickly).

UPDATE: we went back and had the bistecca alla fiorentina! I am a butcher’s granddaughter, and I grew up in cattle county, and I’m telling you that steak was _incredible_. I had a really delicious crostone (toasted gf bread topped with kale, garlic, beans, and olive oil; don’t ask me how something so simple can be so good; it just is) to start, and we ordered roasted potatoes and broccoli as sides. Then the best tiramisu of my life, gluten or no gluten, for dessert. The waiter brought us complimentary limoncello with the bill. This was probably the best meal I will eat all year, if not all this decade.

If you decide to try the bistecca, just note that a) it’s meant to be shared b) you must order it rare c) it will be expensive, but _worth it_.
