Excellent GF food and dining experience. Dining was really an enjoyable and rare event because everything can be easily and safely ordered GF without lot of discussion of ingredients, preparation, etc. You can actually enjoy dining out (particularly with a group) without worrying about being glutened. Highly recommended.
They will be offering shipping on food too soon! They have frozen meals they can ship
This place is a celiac’s dream come true. Huge gluten free menu. Separate gluten free kitchen. The cannolis are the best I have ever had. This is one of the few places I feel truly safe dining out. I recently had them cater my office Christmas party and everything was exceptional.
My husband and I had a great experience here! They take GF very seriously and have a large GF menu and separate prep area. They brought out warm GF bread to start and then I had the Chicken Parmesan which was great. We shared a delicious Tiramisu and cannoli for dessert. I felt safe and respected here!
Fantastic food including fried calamari, wonderful entrees and desserts!
So nice to be able to eat out and feel normal. They were really good about preventing cross contact even at our table with gluten eaters. From bread to dessert they have GF options. Get the mozzarella squares they’re amazing. As well as the ravioli and cannoli! I feel really safe here with their dedicated kitchen area for celiacs and fryer!
The service is excellent! The food is amazing! Really great gluten free choices! The gluten free menu is as big as the regular menu. My only complaint was that we ordered gf Tiramisu and a regular Tiramisu. The gf version was 1/3 the size of the regular. Pretty depressing! Just another reminder that gf is always less than regular. It would be nice if things were more equitable
If you are ever in the Chicago area! This place is a must. We were visiting Chicago and found this Gem! GF menu has so many options and the prices are equal to regular menu! The staff was very knowledgeable and friendly! They even have some of their GF items frozen for sale as well as pasta for sale!
Recently been diagnosed with EOE. Doctors orders are Gluten Free and Dairy Free for 3 months. It put such a huge sadness in the air for Christmas until we realized this local gem had a Gluten Free menu. I was able to eat the same foods I would normally have ordered. They take it serious as most of the children in their family are Celiac. HIGHLY RECOMMEND!!!!!! ❤
Made a reservation weeks ago. Arrived at restaurant was seated quickly. Unfortunately our server wasn’t great. He never asked if we wanted more drinks. Left us waiting and wondering about our food. It took forever. Asked for refills and he seemed annoyed. Food was fair. Nothing special. Kind of greasy and tasteless. Won’t be going back
I am very sick and I have to come to Chicago for treatments. We travel 6 hours. Anyway, we were here, celebrating our 30th Wedding Anniversary. We told the waitress and she didn't even acknowledge us. We ordered the meat and cheese appetizer,, which was pricey. The ended up bringing out a few pieces of rolled up meat. We asked our waitress where the cheese was. She reluctantly went back to the kitchen and got a few cubes of cheese. The pasta tasted like it was out of can and was cold. I ended up getting sick, I think simply because our waitress didn't care! She barely came to our table. This was a very special occasion for us and I was so disappointed with the lousy service and food. The only really good thing was my dessert! We will definitely not waste our time going back and I would never recommend this place!
They have a separate kitchen where everything gluten free is cooked. They can modify meals to be dairy free as well. The meat ravioli was really good and something I’ve never been able to get since having to go gf and df. The ravioli tested gf with my Nima. The only downsides were that it took a very long time to get our food, and I didn’t eat my salad to be safe because the waiter brought it basically stacked under/touching the bottom of the other plates.
We have been going here for a few years and it is celiac friendly which is what I need. This place is family owned and the family does have Celiac members so they are very careful and know how to cook for celiacs.
You can order just about anything on the menu for gluten-free and it always tastes great.
This place definitely exceeded expectations! Everything that has been said before is spot on… first thing we were asked: “Is anyone gluten free?” And then my daughter got the biggest gluten free menu she’s ever seen! Appetizers (with fried mozzarella!), salads, pizzas, entrees and even specials & desserts. And of course they brought regular AND gluten free toasted bread to dip in olive oil! It’s that rare experience where we all get to feel relaxed and order whatever we want… even those with Celiac. And best of all: everyone food was delicious!!! Very authentic Italian. Bravissimo!
This place is incredible!!! The gluten free menu is extensive and has so many options from appetizers to entrees to desserts! The server’s first question was “anyone gluten free” so she could grab us the gf menu. Amazing! The food was absolutely incredible but more importantly safe. The owners had children with celiac disease and so they created delicious safe gf food !!! There is a separate kitchen for the gluten free foods! If you are travelling to Chicago and flying into O’Hare, do yourself a favor and stay at an airport hotel and have dinner at Da Luciano’s!! If you’re in the Chicago area, you definitely need to eat here.
I wish I lived in Chicago! Looked at the reviews here and the story and knew I had to give it a try while I was visiting. And it did not disappoint. Went here so far 3 out of all the 3 nights I've been here, with one more night to go :(
The pasta tastes like actual pasta, the chicken parm is magnificent and the vodka sauce is to die for. And the menu is identical to the regular gluten menu, so options are through the roof.
In addition the wait staff is very knowledgable and friendly. It's only been three days, but they make me feel like I've been going here for years.
Most importantly, I have not felt sick at all, the night of, morning after or days after.
And to top it all off, co-workers who wouldn't even think to eat gluten free have an entire menu of their own [full of gluten] and they have loved all of their dishes as well.
(Update, returned to Chicago four years later for a business trip and made it back to here the two nights, making the 30 minute trip from my hotel, knowing I couldn't miss out. And it was as good as I remembered. First night I ordered in and the staff was very accommodating. And the second night I tried the carry out, and it also was a great experience.)
Ordered manicotti and so did my husband (his wasn’t gluten free). Both of our dishes were just warm and I mean just warm. We had them sent back. My husband said his were ok the second time mine were the same! The pasta was also very under cooked. I was very disappointed, paying nearly $60 with tip for 2 meals and a salad no drinks we should have received hot meals.
