Review of Dario's Steakhouse

Asked the manager if they could prepare food that would be gluten free and celiac safe...he said yes. He said that he would speak with the kitchen and make sure they took the proper precautions to ensure I would have safe food to eat. After speaking with the server who supposedly spoke to the "chef" about what I could eat, I decided to try the bacon wrapped scallops as an appetizer and a wagyu beef filet mignon with oscar topping and a broccolini side. The scallops came out and I tested some of the sauce (I believe it was a burre blanc sauce) and a small piece of the bacon around the scallop in my Nima sensor and it found gluten. I declined to eat the dish (obviously). I let them know about the results of my test and they offered to remake it, but I didn't want to waste another test capsule on it. I asked them to be super careful with the filet and they assured me (again) that the "chef" would take extra care to make sure it was right this time...They brought out the steak and on the same plate the "chef" put a side of fried lyonaise potatoes! Fried in the same fryer as breaded items...I didn't need to test that to know it was covered in gluten. So I asked for a new steak cooked separately with nothing on it and nothing on the plate other than the steak...FINALLY it tested gluten free and I was able to eat it. The staff seemed to think that 'yes'ing me to death would somehow make their gluten contaminated food safe to eat... Sorry that's not how it works. The staff seemed nice, but I will not be returning. This place is not safe for celiacs.
