After we had made reservations at another resturant for a birthday dinner claiming they had gluten free options and then were told otherwise at check in. We found this resturant. We told them our situation and they seated us right away, had many gf options and my daughter was able to eat. The food was great and the staff friendly. Thankfully the night ended on a positive note. As a celiac it is often stressful and frustrating to eat out. They made it a positive experience.
When I arrived a hostess tried to seat me in a back patio. I told him i wanted to be sit out front. He got an attitude and sat me a a four person table even tho two person tables were open. I was alone. I was hungry and looking forward to brunch. I ordered coffee and the eggs benedict. The coffee was lukewarm and when the meal came out the potatoes were cold and the whole plate warn only warn. I needed salt but my waiter never came to my table. i had to ask another waiter for salt. My experience there wasn't good. I won't be going back. I normally go to Farm to Table but they were crowded and this place was not. Now i see why.
Update 7.21.19: menu items still marked GF. Staff clumsy but in the end hooked it up. Got the 600 day prosciutto app (watch out, comes with small slices of bread) + a plain order of the grilled octopus (pancetta is questionable) + flat iron steak which was delicious.
Menu items marked GF. Waiter relatively knowledgeable. Got the grilled octopus. Was really good.
I was able to easily find this restaurant using the app. I was nervous being in Little Italy not know if I was going to be able to eat some noodles but Davanti was very accommodating. They can change 3 of the noodle dishes out with gluten free rigatoni noodles. We also had the beet and watermelon salad which was lovely. My only issue was the sangria. There was too much ice and it was a bit watered down, but I am sure they would have changed it if I asked. Very nice atmosphere. Make a reservation so you can sit outside. There is seating outside on the street and a patio in the back.
This place was amazing! Really informational about what was gluten free and dairy free. The food and drinks were phenomenal. Also excellent customer service was provided. I wish this restaurant was in the Bay Area were I live.
