A visit to Vienna is not complete for us without a visit to Demel. It’s my first visit since having a GF diet so I was very happy to still be able to enjoy a visit with a couple bakery options… and my choice was very good.

Expensive as hell and basically only 2 choices for dessert. No thanks.
— No gluten-free information on the menu

Not really for celiacs high probability of cross contamination. Only two gf options the cake was really rich. Lovely place to see great decor and good coffee.

So glad I took the time to come here - Most famous coffee hoise in Vienna! There were three gluten free choices. Not marked, you have to ask, but everyone spoke english very well. You also get a peak in the kitchen. Common kitchen, so cross comtaminatiob is possible, but I couldn't pass this up! My dessert was delicious, best yet since I got here!
Yes
incredibly crowded wasn't able to spot any difference between cakes (GF and non GF) so we decided to change plans 😢. as said by someone else in other review, ordering system is a bit complicated
They have 3 GF pastries. I added a pic of the delicious one I had. They have a convoluted order system so when you get there pick out the one you want at the entrance display case and have the counter clerk write your item on a ticket that you give to your server at your table. Be prepared to wait in a long line. If the line is outside the door I would move on.
