Don't bother. They can't even handle non-GF food. First off, I got violently glutened here last year. They had to redo my order three times, and still got me sick. So when my friends decided to go today, I came along and just didn't get any food. Every order had a mistake (including my tea - how do you mess up tea?), the food took over an hour to arrive (the restaurant wasn't even half full), the silverware and dishes were dirty, and when we spoke with the manager, she was extremely condescending. Seriously. Don't bother.
The actual menu lists everything gluten-free! The GF English muffin is delicious! In fact, I requested them to use it as a bun for a burger. The absolute best burger since I’ve had to become gluten free!!! The Philly Cheese Steak Omelette is wonderful too! Oh, then top it off with a sundae. It’s like getting to eat at a real restaurant again!
Be very careful of this Denny's I ordered gluten free breakfast items and was assured it was all gluten free.. I advise them I was a coeliac, and the wait staff all said they didn't know what that was. I watch as my GF skillet was made as seen the cook remove oil fryer to cook my skillet. I was assured it was only French fries that were cooked in the oil. Unfortunately I shouldn't have eaten it.. I was sick within 20 mins symptoms last for 3 days. Huge cross contamination of gluten. Coeliacs avoid this place!
Great gluten free options on their menu. Marked with a GF right on the regular menu. I like when it’s right on the normal menu so I don’t have to ask for a separate one and draw attention to myself. Lol I do have to tell them of course that I have celiac so they handle my food carefully in he kitchen, but I hate making people have to go out of their way or do extra for me. So not having to make them run back and forth for a separate menu is nice.
I gave a 4 only because I could tell the servers were not trained to know what Gluten was. Once I explained it the Server was more than happy to help and to make sure everything was correct and that I would not get sick. I always enjoy a good breakfast here!
Denny's is not celiac friendly. They might have a lot of gluten free items on their menu. They fry there French fries that are gluten free in the same fryer that they fry other items, like fry onion rings, ect.... That have wheat flour breading on them.!!! So they are not gluten free anymore. Cross contamination !!!! Ask ?'s
This place made me sick. I ordered a skillet breakfast. This place was super busy and the cooks were swamped and yelling at each other. I feel like they didn't take the proper precautions although my waitress informed the kitchen of my condition.
Some menu items marked as GF are not. I told them I had an allergy, they told me when the food was delivered that the eggs were GF but the rest of the omelette wasn't. Why waste my time like that? I'm glad they caught it but I had to wait for something else to be made. If your menu says GF, don't lie.
Happily surprised to find a ton of gluten free options! We dined in for breakfast, but there were also a lot of dinner options as well!
Although items on the menu are marked GF, nothing is prepared separately. I couldn't eat anything but hash browns because even the gluten free English muffins are toasted in shared toaster with regular breads. NOT a good dining choice for people with GF allergy and /or Celiac !
I had dined at a Denny's in Stockton, Ca a few weeks ago. I had ordered off of the gluten-free menu, after informing the waitress that I have Celiac disease. When my meal arrived, I had noticed a glaze on the steak--"bourbon glaze" is what the waitress had said that it was. When I had tested it with my Nima, it came back with "low gluten." Upon speaking with the manager, I further discovered that the potatoes were not fried in a dedicated fryer, so they were possibly cross-contaminated! I also discovered that none of their gluten-free menu items were in fact "gluten-free!" The manager will be speaking to their corporate office to make menu modifications. If anything, the manager was pleasant, and she was actually thankful to be informed.
My niece has celiacs and we have been traveling. When we tried to explain the situation the server he called over the manager and we were able to explain the situation. They scraped the grill and cleaned it, explained the process, and listed all their ingredients. It ended up being ok. So, they are not familiar, but definitely willing to get it right. Awesome!
