Heck’s Tavern and the Ranch House restaurants marked their menu for gf. The chef and wait staff were very aware of Celiac disease. All of my meals were safe with no mistakes on my plate. The waitress even washed her hands before delivering my plate to me at Heck’s. Gluten free bread was available at both locations. Thanks to the staff for a safe vacation!

I wanted to give them 5 stars. My first two dinners and a breakfast at Heck’s Tavern were delicious, the wait staff was knowledgeable and caring, and I didn’t get sick. Then my last evening I ordered the GF meatballs which the waiter said was NOT GF. I’m glad he knew, but why is it marked wrong on the menu? I ordered bass instead which he confirmed was GF. The waitress who brought it out noticed a garnish on top (maybe fried onions, not sure) and said she would check to see if those were GF. They were not, so the kitchen made me a new meal without the garnish.
I plan to return. I didn’t get sick during my 4 days spent here. I also appreciate the waitstaff’s knowledge and care. But the mistakes on the menu and the slip ups in the kitchen was concerning. Definitely make it clear to the staff if you’re a celiac.
