Beware! This restaurant was rated highly by a celiac on TripAdvisor. I checked out the menu online, and gluten and other allergens were clearly marked. It started out great: I showed my Portuguese celiac card to the waiter (I believe he was the owner of the restaurant) and he seemed very confident and reassuring. I ordered the tuna steak, and my husband got a dish that came with fries, which the waiter said were made in a gluten-free fryer. When my good came, the tuna had two sauces on the side as well as on the tuna itself - four sauces in all. One looked soy-based, so I asked. The waiter sent the cook to our table, who confirmed that two of the sauces contained soy, and she didn’t think it was gluten free. The mayonnaise-based sauce was also not GF. I asked a second time about the fryer, and she said it was not safe either! They remade my tuna and I ended up eating plain fish with plain potatoes. They never apologized. When I questioned the cook about gluten in the soy sauce, she shrugged and said “that’s normal”.
