The hostess wasn’t well versed when I called, but did confirm that the dish I wanted, huevos rancheros, was gluten free.
I’m a sensitive celiac and the dish was absolutely delicious. I got mine to go and they served the green chili on the side so the dish didn’t end up soggy.
Looking forward to trying more dishes here!
Many GF items. Be sure to ask as there are more GF items than are marked on the menu. My meal was not very hot. Many items seem to be made in advance-potatoes, sausage and such so they’re lukewarm.
Best place I've ever ate! The staff is knowledgeable, the owners kid is celiac, the food is so delicious! The owner is very friendly, and made me feel safe to eat there. The wait staff is also super knowledgeable on allergies and what is on the menu. I've never got sick eating here, everytime I visit I eat here at least once a day. I've been visiting at least once a year for 4 years. I can't recommend this place enough for celiac folk.
Great experience! The staff was very accommodating to me, they changed their gloves, cleaned their surfaces, used clean cutting boards, etc. Our server walked me through what was gluten free and what could be made gluten free! Over 40 items on the menu could either 100% gluten free, or could be made 100% gluten free. there were only FOUR things on the menu that I couldn’t have! I highly recommend!!
I got super sick. I think it was cross contamination. It took me five days to get better.
Loved the food and was so excited to have so so many options. I literally could pick from almost everything on the menu. Our server Jeff was super helpful and made me feel very comfortable. My gluten eating family loved their food also. My real test-I didn’t get sick today! We will be back!!
Great food and knowledgeable staff! I had 0 issues here.
Food was delicious! I got GF chicken and waffles, which is GF if you get the johnny cakes (essentially corn based waffles), husband got an egg platter and subbed out the bread for a different side. Menu was pretty clearly marked and the waitress asked if we had any gluten allergies when we picked GF items.
I think the guy who brought the food out was the actual chef, and he reiterated the gluten free status.
I love this place. Almost everything can be gf. The servers are very knowledgeable about celiac. I get the kickin chicken and Waffles every time. You do have to order it with the gf waffle (Johnny cake). But it has beaded chicken and gf sausage gravy that is amazing. You can ask for it to be dipped in their in house hot sauce which is great. It's pricey but very worth it to me. It's become my go to breakfast meeting spot.
Absolutely delicious gluten free food! Everything on the menu can be converted to gluten free and they are highly conscious if cross contamination. Wish I could rate 6 stars!
I had the best gf fried chicken and waffles! They had many other options such as oatmeal, omelets and loaded waffles. My boyfriend even liked the gf fried chicken and said he likes the gf waffle better than the waffle full of gluten 😅 Did not get sick and will be going back!
Oh! And they had gf gravy!
Very knowledgeable. Someone related to the owner has celiac so they understand.
For someone with celiac they are very accommodating. Good food and you don't have to worry about getting sick.
I was very happy with this place. when informed of my celiac condition, the staff were curteous and helpful. The breakfast tacos were great. They knew enough to let me know the potatoes typically with the tacos were cooked on the same griddle as wheat and offered an alternative (fruit or salad). I was not glutened and would definitely eat here again.
The food was good but there were very few GF options. The Johnny cake waffle was good. Probably not worth a return trip.
The food is good! But the gluten-free preparation is hit or miss. I've had good experiences here, and I've had bad experiences here. Admittedly, the staff was much more aware and accommodating with the original owners. Since the restaurant was sold, things have changed a bit. So be prepared for up-charges and that your meal may not be 100% gluten-free.
They list items that are gluten free, but the server we had demonstrated a complete lack of care and interest about a medical need to keep strictly gluten free.
When asked about the breakfast tacos that were delivered (with eggs differently than ordered) we were met with a shrug and an excuse - no follow up, no attempt to make certain things were correct.
Food was ok, but pricy.
I was happily impressed with this restaurant. there were so many options for me for breakfast! The food was delicious, as well. I had an omelette with gluten free toast, but I will have to go back to try the pancakes. I only gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because I am not Celiac did not need to 100% avoid cross contamination, so I did not ask about their protocols. Taking to the manager he said they try their very best to accommodate dietary needs, and I think it shows!
Fantastic! They take the time and effort to ensure that the meal is truly gluten free and celiac friendly. Great kids menu.
I first went to EBR in late July, and liked it so much I decided to start working there to eat the food all the time. The menu has many GF options, and they take special care with all who state that they have Celiac. They cannot guarantee a totally gluten free environment, like most places, but they do wash their hands before making a Celiac plate, use separate cooking surfaces and tools, and they don't fry anything in shared oil for Celiac customers. The menu is the same no matter who you are, but variations can be made on most items to make the GF friendly. All in all, I love this place. It's a great place to eat, and a great place to work.
