Wow so many GF options to choose from - included battered and deep fried foods in a dedicated fryer! Delicious!! Next time I come it will have to be for a lobster roll - never had one, but for my initial visit I stuck with haddock, shrimp, Cole slaw and onion rings! They can also do blackened/grilled healthier options
Excellent experience. Well aware of Celiac and need to protect from cross contamination. Almost everything on the menu is gluten free. Dedicated fryer. Gluten free ingredients. Hubby (celiac) had fried scallops and whole belly clams, coleslaw and fries. He is a Boston guy and a seafood snob (😂). Said the clams were the best he had in over 20 years. I am not celiac and had the special, a gluten containing lobster-clam chowder. Rich and flavorful with big chunks of lobster. Their regular clam chowder is GF. Definitely recommend.
BEWARE if you are GLUTEN FREE/ Celiac disease the do not label any of there food and do not seem to see why that is a huge issue when you order gluten free and non gluten free food. Customer service was very rude. They seemed to be confused why unable containers weren’t an issue because they gave a list of what was ordered. We had to have all our food remade but we still can’t risk eating food that is properly handled. Very disappointing.
My husband has celiac. We have eaten at a lot of places over the years. I wanted to love this place based on the reviews but it was awful & expensive for very small portions. My husband got the New England clam chowder - a cup - which was good & a lobster roll. The lobster was terrible & the roll was inedible. Hard as a rock. We ordered the fish fry as a starter - the fish was good but again, the roll was inedible and the fish was flat .. it didn’t even fit in the roll. In short, it wasn’t a fish fry. We ate the fish by itself. I ordered grilled shrimp - 6 very small shrimp - which were spoiled. Smelled like ammonia (I ate one & left the rest) and it came with a tiny cup of baked beans (from a can) and a tiny cup of tasteless potato salad - in total, we spent 100 dollars with tip and we drank water. Simply, simply awful. Would never return.
Food was great. Service was knowledgeable and no issues I had deep fried clams & onion rings. It’s been a long time. Still thinking about how great it was
Calling all seafood lovers... Eddie F's is the place for you! Hand-battered fish, clams, shrimp, scallops, calamari, onion rings, plus french fries, lobster and more, all freshly made to order in a dedicated fryer, just like you remember from your favorite seaside shack. Batter is light, crispy and delicious. Plenty of basket options here, with safety a priority. Chowders available, along with pasta, salad and some sandwich options (not all gluten free). Super casual dine-in (shorts, t-shirts and flip-flops are welcome) with to-go ordering. Although not inexpensive, prices are reflective of market value. A welcome option for gluten free needs.
Separate fryer for Gluten Free and first time having onion rings in a restaurant since I was diagnosed with Celiac Disease. The best onion rings ever, gluten-free buns, yummy coleslaw and flour-less cake! No adverse reactions, so we'll definitely be going back. Also very friendly waitress, no longer wait, and they have alcoholic beverages.
Just about everything here can be made gluten-free, that includes the fish fries, the clam rolls, even the onion rings! We ordered gluten-free calamari for our whole party, which included several non-gluten-free members, and they all said that they liked the gluten-free batter better than the non-gluten free. It was crispier and lighter. Now this is not a fancy place, the plates are paper the wine glasses are plastic cups, but if you are looking for crispy, fried seafood or gluten-free lobster rolls, you’re not going to find a better place!
Staff is friendly and very knowledgeable about the food safety needs for people who need to eat gluten free. They brought my food to the table separately from those in my group who had gluten containing foods, which I really appreciate as an added safety measure. The food was fresh & delicious!
We’ve eaten at both the Clifton Park & Saratoga locations. The service and food at both were great!
I messaged the restaurant before going there and they were very thorough in answering my questions regarding their gluten free safety protocols.
We ordered carryout recently. I was able to notate my daughter's allergy and Celiac easily in the online form. When I arrived to pick up, they double checked the bun use on another part of the order. They also wanted to let me know that it was a separate fryer so my daughter's entire order would be GF. They packed and bagged her order separately to ensure no cross contamination. Very attentive!
Cute little restaurant who has dedicated fryers for yummy gluten free fried seafood! Anything on the menu can be made gluten free. Whole belly clams, fish fry’s, clam-strips, scallops & many more. Gluten free rolls & kaiser rolls are available for lobster rolls, clam strip rolls, scallop & shrimp rolls. They also have gluten free chicken & fish sandwiches and so much more! All soups are gluten free as well.
