I came here after reading the stellar reviews on this app and didn’t get sick, but also was let down in general. I told the waitress I had a gluten allergy and asked what my options were and she just asked what I wanted to eat in a kind of dismissive way. Fortunately, there was an option to make what I had had my eye on (sushi) GF and she mentioned what protocols they would do (cleaning knife and prep station) to prevent cross-contamination, which I appreciated.
However, the service was less than great. My partner and I were offered the wrong drinks as “refills” twice. When I asked about GF soy sauce she just pointed to the low-sodium (wheat-containing!!) soy sauce on the table, which I then read the ingredients on and had to point out to her was NOT safe. I was then brought soy sauce from the back, but between the few mixups that had already occurred and how quickly she seemed to be rushing between tables, I didn’t trust it and thus didn’t eat it.
I ate my sushi itself with no later reaction and saw that an allergy note had been marked on the receipt, but had been anxious the whole time because of the less than satisfactory service that my order would somehow be messed up too and I would get sick. I feel bad for the waitress because they were clearly very busy, but this should have been handled better. With food allergies you never know when the next mixup could result in someone being sick.

Love the option to have hibachi and sushi as a celiac. I was anxious about the sushi and the prep area but I explained everything to my server and she asked the sushi chef to wipe down and use clean knives and rolling mats. Everything was delicious and I highly recommend dining at Edo!

Edo's offered gluten free hibachi option. The salad is served with oil and vinegar (ginger not gf). The miso soup is served instead of clear soup. Overall, a good experience and would come back!

i mentioned to my waitress that i have a gluten intolerance and she told me they’d make me my dinner in the back kitchen and gluten free soy sauce was available. i’m not sure if they have a dedicated gluten free kitchen area but they allow you to substitute the noodle dish for double rice if you ask with no upcharge. also the miso soup is gluten free and vegetarian friendly.
