Idk why I waited so long to write this review. I’ve been to this restaurant a handful of times without any issues, as they offer plenty of “GF” items on their menu. However a few months back I ordered the same breakfast I normally would, even had a chat with the server about my experience with Celiac (she told me her boyfriend has it too) and so of course I felt safe to eat there. Anyways idk what happened but they served me regular pancakes after reassuring me it was GF and I was so sick I ended up in the hospital. Also at the time I was 6months pregnant and needed to be monitored for extra precautions for the baby due to the severity of my reaction. When I called to let them know what happened, they told me I’m eating out at my own risk and they’ll let the server know for the future. Not that I would feel safe to eat there again but they didn’t even offer to comp a meal or give us money back for our experience there.
Go to egg harbor cafe if you are looking for safe GF breakfast options.
When they actually serve you the GF food options, they’re good. Otherwise do not trust this restaurant to get your order right in the kitchen especially if you have celiac disease.

Great tasting food, and after eating there several times without issues, I'd say they do a great job of avoiding cross contamination! They have GF pancakes AND waffles, though I don't know if they have a separate waffle iron.
Food was great, and they do have gluten-free options clearly labeled. One BIG caution: our server told us that the banana nut bread French toast being labeled gluten free is an ERROR. Deducted a star for such a potentially serious error not being crossed out on the menu, because everything else about the experience was fabulous
I was glutened! Had the banana nut French toast and hashbrowns. Told the waitress I had celiacs disease, guess it went over her head, never going back

Good food, helpful staff. I couldn't get a list of ingredients on the gluten free waffles or pancakes, nor could our waitress, to figure out whether the mix they use is dairy free for sure or not. Does anyone have this info? Thanks much.
Great selection, knowledgeable staff. The pancakes and waffles are not only gf they are dairy free as well. Highly recommend!!
I can't believe no one has commented on this excellent restaurant. Organic and gluten-free options abound. No special GF menu - the whole menu clearly shows the options. Highly recommended.

A great brunch place - the best, most creative twists on classic breakfast and brunch dishes. Very knowledgeable and trained staff, even on cross-contamination issues. Gluten-free items are clearly marked on the menu. Multiple locations throughout Chicago and the suburbs. Great gluten free pancakes and Belgian waffles. I had "Buenos Diaz Breakfast Chilaquiles", on the recommendation of my amazing waitress - it was awesome. They have a dedicated fryer for making their homemade corn tortilla chips, they make their refried beans from scratch, and they don't even have a freezer on site - everything is fresh-made every day. If it's crowded when you get there, it's worth the wait.
