El Mexicali Cafe II

El Mexicali Cafe was recommended as a place to get good GF Mexican dishes. Menu has items marked as GF, however when asking a few questions we discovered that all the corn chips and corn tortillas and taco shells were put into the same fryer as all other items including flour tortillas and flour coated meats. There is no dedicated GF fryer. Staff seemed to not understand what “cross contamination” was. I ordered taquitos that were marked GF on the menu. They had been put into a fryer (again, NOT a GF dedicated fryer). I discussed my situation with my waitress and she was able to replace my taquitos with uncooked corn tortillas.
