Review of El Nido Modern Mexican

I don’t make many bad reviews but I needed to do for this place. They didn’t have a GF menu or even items listed as GF but a server talked to us before being seated about our options and we decided to try it. We will never be coming back to this place. They stated they have corn tortillas for their tacos and enchiladas but when I went to order my food at 8pm at night.. the server informed me they ran out of corn tortillas! How does a Mexican restaurant run out of corn tortillas?! I then decided to just get an arepa for my dinner— then I was told they ran out of something else and we’re using flour to bind the arepa 😳 WHAT?! So now my only option was a $30-$35 dinner entree which I wasn’t planning on spending that much. The manager did give me a shrimp dinner for only $15 since they ran out of the corn tortillas but even that dinner was very mediocre— shrimp with white rice and peas with a sauce (not even worth the original $30). I don’t think we will be returning anytime soon. Drive farther south and go to Rocco’s Tacos or Turco Taco in Naples.
