Very nice place! Staff is knowledgeable on what is gluten free and what is not, as well as advising for potential cross contamination. I got enchiladas and queso fundido. Didn’t feel any gluten and felt safe eating. If it matters, they can only do two dessert items without gluten, the flan and ice cream. Other than that, I would recommend for some nice gluten free Mexican food
Excellent place, very accommodating and delicious food! Their margaritas are dangerously good. Regarding the cooking methods, they have Separate grill for people with allergies. FYI the chips contain wheat due to frying method
El Nuevo is one of our staples! David is our favorite server and he always checks with the kitchen for GF when we have questions. Our favorites are enchiladas (with quinoa in place of rice, as it’s fried and not GF), queso fundido (with corn tortillas), and the Cadillac margaritas!

I’ve eaten here several times & never had an issue for celiac. My servers have always been knowledgeable! Don’t remember their deal with chips though. Aside from the gluten aspect, I love this restaurant. There is a great patio in back & the service is always wonderful. I always end up with free tequila shots here to!
The staff here is kind, knowledgable, and attentive! I’ve been here prior to being diagnosed with celiac disease but was excited to see what they could offer that was gluten free.
I had seen older Yelp reviews that noted a dedicated fryer, but my waiter tonight confirmed they no longer have a dedicated fryer. They fry the chimichangas (flour tortilla) in the same fryer as the chips. My waiter also confirmed the rice was fried but offered me multiple alternatives!
Really knowledgeable and friendly staff, definitely took my concerns and questions seriously. He communicated with the cooks and was so patient and kind, really made the experience. I had the enchiladas and they were great, plus the margaritas are always good. Great experience.
