My daughter (9yo) and I are both coeliacs. Cosy restaurant with a nice vibe! My daughter had the GF pasta (penne served with all pasta dishes) and it was really good. The do smaller (and cheaper) portions for children. Creamy basil sauce with chicken. I tried the pizza Vegetariana and was underwhelmed. It was fine, but the crust was really thin, the edges hard as crackers. The cheese used was also a bit strange. It was ok, but would not order it again. Lots of meat options, also several vegetarian options, but I never asked if they were GF or not. No markings in the menu for GF items.
I was there with a friend and ordered the gluten-free Penne. Everything was fine until I noticed a different looking noodle in my plate full of gluten free noodles. It was a noodle containing gluten.
I immediately spoke to my (very nice) waitress and told her the situation. She explained that they keep the gluten-free penne in a box next to the noodles that are containing gluten. It must have slipped over when putting the noodles on my plate.
It wasn’t good and also had a ( luckily small ) reaction to eating everything which was cross contaminated with gluten.
They did bring me a new plate with gluten free penne and apologized.
But something like that can be really dangerous and bad for people who have more physical reactions than me. Luckily I don’t really have physical reactions - well I don’t really feel them that bad. Of course amy tin in my small intestine are ,,dead” and have to recover.
Overall:
Technically it’s a good place since they know how to handle gluten but please be careful and talk to the staff about it.
I wouldn’t recommend it though.
Delicious bread with aioli! Glutenfree options for pasta and pizza indicated on the menu, but did not try these. Our waiter seemed quite aware of glutenfree special diets and made sure I didn’t get fries due to a high risk of cross contamination. The place is quite OK, but loud and smoking is allowed, so its not for everyone.
Hele fijne ervaring gehad.
That Restaurant was very pretty, the outdoor seating area was just beautiful and the GF food options were sooo good! They had gluten free pasta options and also burger options and most of the staff had a good knowledge about GF food. The pasta I had was really delicious. Still, only 4/5 stars bc one waitress who brought the food to our table didn’t really care or know what the GF food was when I asked her (I just wanted to make sure it’s the gluten free pasta I ordered bc restaurant was also very crowded at that point and some tables got something they didn’t order) - but another waiter made sure it was the right GF pasta later, so thumbs up. Also it’s a little sad that the menu card does NOT show gluten free options, you have to tell the staff and they’ll tell you what GF options they have.
