There's a lot of safe gluten free options, with cross-contamination not an issue, and the food is really good as well.

There was a slight language barrier with the lady at the front desk but one of the other workers was able to confirm that there was a dedicated fryer and that they would change their gloves to prevent cross contamination.

Careful with cross contamination, everything except flour tortillas are available gf, even fried fish tacos.

Really depends which staff member takes your order—one didn’t know anything about gluten free and the other did and told us there was a separate frier. Don’t know about any other precautions taken—separate space, changing gloves, etc. Delicious food! Made me a bit sick but I’m unsure if that’s because of contamination or just the fact that it’s Mexican food.

My celiac son loves this place. We've eaten here a number of times w no issues. The tacos are on corn tortillas (they only use flour tortillas for burritos and quasidillas). The staff was v knowledgeable and helpful. Mind you, we never go when it's packed (Sox games).
I went here based on positive reviews from other folks on this website, but hate to say that I was unable to eat anything. When asked about gluten free options the cashier said the fish tacos are GF, but didn't understand any of the usual follow up questions about GF prep space, cross contamination on cooking surfaces, or dedicated friers. Many menu options are on flour tortillas, so the risk of cross contamination seemed high, especially in a smallish kitchen.
To be fair, they don't advertise themselves as having gluten free options, and my family (all non-celiacs) said their food was great. So, 5 stars from my family for the food, but I had no confidence that I could eat there as a celiac.

Good News! No issues for me, biopsy diagnosed Celiac Sprue. I asked what was my best GF option and went with her suggestion. I had the fish tacos with all the normal toppings and sauce and all was well. Tasty and quick.

Absolutely love this place; one of my go-to's in Boston. The only gluten in their restaurant is the flour tortillas, so avoid those and you're good. I always get the carmelos steak tacos with guac. Fried plantains are to die for. I have eaten here regularly over the past 4 years and never been sick.

One of my favorite local restaurants since before my CD diagnosis! My first time back since being diagnosed, the cashier understood my allergy and said that she had CD herself! One of the major reasons she chose to work here was because she felt safe eating their food. They have corn tortillas, and the plantains are fried in a GF fryer. I always get the El Guapo either in a bowl to take home to my own GF wraps, or with one of their corn tortillas. The people handling the food always change their gloves when there is an allergy. I haven't gotten sick yet!
