Food was great! Got a few things and saved some stuff for airport next day - Nice food truck spot where my non GF husband could also go where he wanted too!!
The best empanadas I’ve ever had! The yuca fries were amazing too
It’s very good food, and very safe. There’s not a ton of variety especially for people who don’t eat meat and almost nothing for vegans (I’m not but have friends), and sometimes the staff have forgotten my order or not been friendly. Since moving to the cart pod some of the food has gotten slightly worse or smaller and you have to specially ask for things that used to be included. I recommend eating it somewhere else because the eating area is rarely cleaned and used by lots of other carts serving gluten which has gotten me sick before. Prices are reasonable.
Oh my god i didn't really know what to expect when I walked up to this place. When I walked up I realized it was a food truck and I got really excited and these people did not disappoint at all! They were fast for the fact that it is fresh food. The taste was AMAZING. And it was so flavorful everything was well balanced. And filling. I had a beef Arepa and a beef Empanada and I am so glad I came here. I ordered the blackberry drink however I didn't really like it but I think I just don't like blackberries it was a bit sour for my taste. And the price was great as well for the meal I got it was $19. I'm definitely coming back!
Delicious! I had an arepa and an empenada with a juice. It was a Sunday and nice out so it was busy but well worth the wait. Everything was gf and flavorful. Definitely worth a stop!
I don't usually review places that already have a ton of good reviews. El Pilon is good and very safe. It's just that two of the drinks do have gluten. Not a big deal and not a secret either. This is clearly labeled on their website and on their menu in person. It just appears alongside statements like "100% gluten free" which is a little confusing. It's more like 99% gluten free, or 100% gluten free food with a couple of gluten containing drinks. But don't let that scare you off. No vegan arepa option but the yucca fries and a couple of empanadas are vegan are really good. So are the juices.
I was starving and downtown. This came up as near where I had parked. The line was not too bad, as I salivated while the family in front of me order $170 worth of food.
I ordered 3 empanadas..beef chicken and cheese. The service was relatively fast for such a busy day, but I was so hungry, I don't even remember how good they were. Hahahaha 😂🤣
Normal menu items are 100% gluten free. HOWEVER, they sold me a gluten filled pastry (which is not made there nor typically available) and didn't even mention it was wheat 🌾 Luckily we overheard him tell the next in line that it was before I ate it. Been there 3 times without reaction and will be back again. Great value and yummy food.
