Review of Elegant Elephant Baking Co.

I would plead with anyone that has serious food allergies to avoid this place at all costs. These types of bakeries and restaurants that claim to be “food allergy friendly” are the most dangerous to those with allergies when they create a false sense of security and lead you to believe your food is safe, but it couldn’t be more dangerous. I ordered a simple cake that was supposed to be nut free, which I stressed to the staff, but I wound up eating a cake with almonds. Not the amount of almonds that would mean that the cake was supposed to contain nuts, but whole almonds that fell into the cake. There is nothing other than incompetence, laziness, or cruelty that could lead to an event like that. I could have died because this place claims to cater to the food allergy community which they are so clearly unable to do. Please save your loved ones from having to experience what I did.

We are so sorry about your experience. However, we take nut allergies very seriously and have a dedicated room for preparing nut free options. Unless specified otherwise, all of our cakes and cupcakes are always nut free and vegan. We don't actually use whole almonds in any of our products unless it's a special, so I'm guessing what you found was something else. I suspect it was chunk of flour not properly mixed. Which definitely sucks on our part and I'm sorry your product was not of higher quality.
