Our server recommended the smoked salmon dip and offered to modify it gluten free with veggies on the side instead of bread. She seemed confident about its gluten free status so we ordered it, and halfway through she came out and let us know that there IS gluten. Her words were “but it’s only a little bit of unbleached flour”. She definitely didn’t know much about celiac or allergies in general, because she said she was happy she caught it before we finished the dish and she compared it to a vegetarian eating meat. The manager did come out and comp our meal but my intestines won’t know the difference!
