This restaurant located in Market square just above Market Street Grocery was such a great spot. The location is so close to everything. I’m always looking for a new place to dine before a show and I’ve grown tired of the traditional downtown steakhouse. I was so excited to finally check this place out.
💫Prior to making a reservation I reached out about gluten free/wheat free items. The response I received made me very comfortable with dining here.
💫Upon arrival we were greeted and seated immediately. The contemporary vibe of this place was cozy and comfortable on a cold winter night.
💫The cocktail list had so many choices that I had a hard time deciding. I went with the Pomegranate Martini. It didn’t disappoint.
💫The menu isn’t humungous, you can tell that it has been carefully curated. I went with the market salad. It was HUGE! If I wasn’t going to a show afterwards I could have easily taken half of it home for lunch the next day. It was simple and delicious - the artichoke hearts were a nice touch. For my main I went with that evening’s Logan family farm hand cut steak which was a ribeye. It was served topped with butter and roasted garlic cloves that I immediately smashed and melted onto the steak. It. Was. SO. Good. It was also cooked perfectly to my medium rare preference. I opted out of dessert because I was stuffed which in hindsight, I’m mad about because I should have tried something! Guess that means I’ll be going back soon to try the gluten free penne alla vodka soon😉

DELICIOUS penne vodka pasta with chicken and steak with potatoes and asparagus. Met the chef prior and he told us he is super careful and uses all separate equipment for celiac people. Call ahead to confirm they have gluten free pasta in stock and ask to speak to the chef if you have any concerns. He came out before we ordered and at the end to make sure everything was good. The host/waitress didn't seem too knowledgeable but since we talked to the chef it was okay. By far the best food we've had in Pittsburgh. Fries are not in a separate fryer but he is working on expanding to getting that. Felt very safe here!
