Emporio: A Meatball Joint

I went on a busy Friday night and, although they were understaffed and it took a long time to get our food, I had a lot of gluten free + vegetarian options that made the wait worth it. I got Parmesan fries (which are cooked in a separate fryer) with a really yummy salad. I was informed that the gluten-free penne is also cooked with separate equipment and is celiac-safe, although I did not order this menu item. I have also gotten the mashed potatoes in the past which were delicious! The falafel is unfortunately cooked in a shared fryer. I did not get sick at all after eating here which was amazing.

Ordered GF chicken meatballs with “GF” crack fries. Server assured me that all GF stuff stays separated. I let them know of my intolerance anyway, for good measure. I was ill all night, and a friend with a wheat allergy had a similar experience. This place does not have attention to detail. I’m not confident their staff takes this seriously.

This place did offer a gluten free chicken meatball dish, but I wasn’t floored by the flavors or quality of food. I ordered a cocktail, which was so cloyingly sweet I barely drank any.

I ordered from the gluten free menu chicken/fries/cracksauce. Double checked with wait staff and asked all the questions. Spent the night violently ill. Definitely was contaminated.

My family and I went on a Saturday night and waited about 45 minutes to be seated. It was worth the wait! The chicken meatballs are GF, dense, and flavorful. I asked if I could modify their loaded baked potato bowl, and they happily accommodated! I had it with 2 chicken meatballs, cheddar mashed potatoes, tater tots, crumbled bacon, and chives. It was delicious! Their menu clearly states which sauces and sides are GF. You will not be disappointed!
