Absolutely they use flour and their fryer has gluten, so any chips etc will be contaminated. They do have GF tortillas that are ok. They have a GF menu, but their vegetarian meal is not GF. They seemed only a bit knowledgeable- so Celiac be ware. If Celiac and veggie, maybe skip this place or just get an app & wine. What we did eat was delicious- but we had our main meal elsewhere so I could eat a meal.
They only use corn. No flour there. Awesome and the food was delicious.
I had the best brunch experience at Espita! I have a laundry list of food allergies, but my friends wanted to do a fun brunch out. I don't often get to eat out in restaurants, so I was a little nervous.
I decided to call ahead to see if/what I would be able to eat and was immediately put on the phone with the chef who shared his email with me and put together a custom menu the next day. I was already impressed, but come the day of our reservation, I was blown away! Instead of making me feel awkward or weird about my food allergies and sensitivities (like many restaurants do!), I was welcomed by name, was given a menu that was created just for me, and was introduced to both my server and chef who had communicated about my needs beforehand. I could have cried— I'm still so grateful to have had a dining experience like this one!
My friends and I had the best brunch, the food and drinks were great, and I absolutely know I'll be back! Thank you, Espita!! If you have any kind of food allergies or dietary needs, I highly recommend giving Espita a call before you visit. They'll take amazing care of you!
— Very
— Separate gluten-free menu
— Most/All
— Excellent
I’ve eaten here a couple times and have never been sick. If you call ahead and mention you are celiac, they will have a separate menu waiting when you arrive. The food is also quite good.
Yes
Staff was very knowledgeable about cross contamination. They have a separate gluten free menu with fryer issues clearly marked. They used a different pan for me and gave us corn tortillas to dip instead of chips.
