This is a MUST for GF’er’s! Unassuming cafe in the lobby of a medical office building that you would never know is there. But a wide assortment of delicious GF pastries and GF sandwiches and wraps. The owner is delightful. Told me she’d been in business there 13 years. Makes everything fresh herself each weekday beginning at 4 AM. She made me a GF wrap from scratch and it was the best I’ve ever had — a turkey BLT. (She explained that she used to make the GF wraps ahead and freeze them but that they cracked so she decided to make them fresh whenever one was ordered. A little bit of a wait but well worth it.). Many menu luncheon options. I bought a GF quiche and an assortment of muffins and pastries to take home. You won’t regret eating here I assure you. It is safe and scrumptious.
Just order a gluten free layer cake for my daughter’s wedding shower. It was a white layer with chocolate mousse filling and chocolate ganache. Absolutely delicious. Everyone agreed how wonderful it tasted, and my daughter was so very happy to be able to have the cake gluten free. Esther , the owner was so accommodating to our needs. Thank you so much.
A hidden gem! As others have mentioned, it’s in the lobby of the medical building. I had a delicious GF chicken salad sandwich wrapped in one of her homemade crepes, I think. The chicken salad wasn’t on the menu, but she told me she had just made some fresh and could make me a good GF sandwich. She also made my boyfriend a gluten sandwich. I’m quite sensitive so it is big that she is able to handle gluten and GF foods well in her kitchen.
The owner Esti is super knowledgeable about gluten free. She makes amazing baked goods as well as delicious sandwiches with gluten free bread. She has GF wraps she said she makes herself. I chose a mozzarella sandwich with pesto and it was amazing. I also chose from the to row of her pastry display, which she said was all gluten free. Not everything is clearly marked you just have to ask her. It’s a counter service place that is in the lobby of a medical plaza. So ambiance isn’t amazing BUT it was quiet when I went with my guest. Highly recommend! This is the. Best baked goods I’ve gotten this side of the Hudson. And prices are very reasonable.
Really delicious! You wouldn’t see the cafe from the road. It’s in an office/medical building. Got a grilled chicken sandwich on GF bread with vegan cheese. She even changed her gloves to make it. Also walked away with GF/Vegan cookies. Highly recommend!
Try this place. The gluten free wraps are delicious. My kids love the candies too!
Absolute best GF sweets I have ever had!! You have to go!!
Amazing place with all sorts of gluten free options. Strawberry shortcake and pumpkin cheesecake are two of our favorites...
I was surprised when I realized this little cafe was in the lobby of my former doctors office, but so glad I went and gave it a chance! The owner (assuming its Esti??) was so sweet! I had a chicken salad sandwich on one of her homemade GF wraps and a GF chocolate cake pop. There were an overwhelmingly awesome number of choices, from pizza to sandwiches, and the dessert and pastry choices all looked incredible! Will definitely be back!
There are not enough words to describe how good Esti's Cafe baked goods are. I have both a Celiac gf daughter and a Celiac gf+df daughter and she has options for both and everything is so so yummy! And she is the nicest. One of her gf muffins have chocolate chips in them but they are not dairy free. So she told my daughter today she will buy dairy free ones just for her and make a fresh batch! I mean who does that?
The tarts are to die for!!! I really love the blueberry and apple tart...so delicous..it really tastes like the regular tart or maybe much better. I highly recommend this place it is worth the drive. Can't wait to try the pecan pie next time😊😊
My fiance and I went to Esti's on our way to a play. We drove around trying to find it and when we didn't see any signs, called. It's inside the medical building behind the directory. It's in a pleasant little atrium. The sweets are beautifully and professionally decorated. We had the quiche and eggplant parmigiana. Everything tasted like is was deftly prepared and with good quality ingredients. We were fortunate enough to be there while the owner was there. She is a charming woman who makes everything that she serves, including her own flours. Esti's was an unexpected treat!
Found this because of the reviews here. It is hidden in the medical building. Just as reviews state, she makes a great variety of gluten free treats. I enjoyed the grilled chicken with roasted red peppers and pesto wrap. Very tasty. Wrap itself was light unlike many wraps I've had before that are a little like cardboard! Definitely will return.
Esti's gluten free options are delightful and tasty. Tasty is the key word since I've had gluten free foods at other establishments and the food tasted poorly. I find that it's difficult to get gluten free recipes to taste just right and Esti certainly does that. I have enjoyed eating her mango chocolate meringue dessert to her homemade gluten free wraps. I'm never disappointed. Gluten free homemade soups are also delicious!
Chose this place based on the reviews . First you should know she is located in the lobby if a Medical office building. my husband and I were looking for a light lunch on our road trip we ordered a gluten free grilled chicken wrap and some sweet treats. The wrap was tasty the crumb cake tasted good too however my husband who has Celiac started to not feel well a short while later so we think it was not entirely gluten free.
Wow, Esti's food was great! She was so nice, and her gluten-free/dairy free mango cake was out of this world!
My husband and I have been gluten free since I was diagnosed with celiac disease in 1999 (he's a keeper but that story is for another day ;). Way back then, we actually had grieved our loss. We tried every gluten-free product that we could; we even imported food from Canada and England. Nothing ever came close to the real thing and we eventually gave up and stopped searching for something that we thought didn't exist. That is, until we found Esti's! I had read a review online and we eventually made it there by chance - a construction delay on the road had us stopped almost out front of the building. It was a miracle! That first day we had no idea... we had hesitantly ordered food because we were unsure if it would taste 'like we remember it'. It didn't... It was BETTER! We've been back again and again now and we haven't tried anything of hers that we haven't loved. Esti is amazing and her creations are OUT OF THIS WORLD. She does have gluten and gluten-free options but there is so many gf options that I am never jealous or left wishing ;) This is the BEST and you absolutely must go to Esti's Café for breakfast, lunch, or an early-bird dinner (she closes at 5) and buy an extra dessert to take home :D
Esti's is our new place to go for breakfast. My favorite thing is the nutella crepe. I have been gluten free for years now and crepes have just not been in the cards. Now I have options because Esti makes her own gluten free flour and uses it for crepes, wraps, etc.
Unlike other wraps that are stiff her wraps are pliable and move like a traditional wrap. I have only had a few of her desserts (the crepe is dessert enough for me, most days) but my spouse raved about the "best ever gluten free bread pudding"
We will definitely be long time customers because finding awesome gluten free options in New Jersey is pretty rare.
I have been a few times and everything has been soo good! The Gf wraps are nice and soft. Apple strudel was very good but the best is the chocolate banana bread pudding, it's actually called "the best chocolate banana bread pudding" and it literally is the best!! Can't wait to try the rest of the Gf items.
She makes mouth watering cookies and desserts. Her gluten free desserts are delicious. I tried her apple pie this holiday season and it was out of this world. She needs to make this the rest of the year too. Her cookies are decadent. She uses the best ingredients Her produce is always fresh She used gloves at all times while cooking and serving I think she has by far the best gluten free cookies and desserts and not to forget her gluten free wraps.
A great place that was really hard to find. The cafe is located in an office building behind the directory sign. There aren't any signs for the cafe itself. Once you find it, you will be so happy you did. There were so many gluten free choices. I tried the breakfast wrap. It was very tasty, light and healthy. I also took some gluten free pecan pie with me. The filling was delicious but very rich. A very decadent dessert that would be a lovely option for holiday meals. On the advice of another poster I also had the rugelach and it was fabulous. Also I felt very comfortable right away seeing that the gluten free food was on the top shelf or well wrapped to avoid cross contamination. She also put on gloves when preparing my food. The rest of the family tried the non-gluten free food and also enjoyed it.
Esti, thank you very much for the wonderful food and the wonderful experience of being able to choose from the many gluten free choice.
So happy I found this place!! I am EXTREMELY sensitive and had no reactions at all. I had a breakfast wrap which was light and delicious. Then I had some rugalach (which I haven't had for years!!) and these also were perfection. I've tried a lot of gf desserts and they usually taste overly sweet or you can definitely tell they're gf...the sweets I bought at Esti's tasted amazing!! Cannot say enough good things. You should give it a try--you'll see it's totally worth it.
A diamond in the rough, Esti's cafe is the best gluten free food and baked goods in the area. She makes her own flour and her goodies are always light and delicious! I have severe celiac disease and have never gotten sick. I especially recommend her amazing muffins, wraps, and tarts!
Excellent apple pie!! Never thought it was gluten free. Try the red velvet also next time you stop by.. To die for!!!
You might think these reviews are praising Esti too much... but trust me, they are not. She makes all these gluten free treats from scratch... and the tastes and textures, something hard to achieve with gluten free, are unbelievable! You truly will not know you are eating gluten free! She is also a very sweet lady... always smiling and ready to recommend her latest creations. EVERYTHING is great.... and I have eaten them all. She really knows what she is doing.
Excellent gluten free food! I just had one of the best gluten free apple strudels I've ever eaten! I could not tell the difference. Great catering options...5stars!
Great variety of foods and desserts, cant tell the difference on gluten free ones, everything delicious. Great service also, very nice lady takes care of everything!
Esti's makes such wonderful gf goodies. The baked goods have that authentic taste and texture of a bakery. We live out of state and always look forward to Grandma sending us Esti treats!
Thank you ESTI's!!!! My daughter loved your GF desserts. We will definitely make the trip from Rockland to have your GF lunch as well.
The best gluten free food and dessert there is. I love coming here, Esti never disappoints. It's definitely one of my favorite places to go.
Esti's makes some of the most wonderful gluten free treats available. This morning, I try the gluten-free quiche, and rugulach and felt that everything was delicious... And you could not tell that they were gluten free! I highly recommend this Cafe to anyone who wants delicious treats!
The best gluten free wraps and crepes! Can't taste the difference. Even with their gluten free homemade pastries taste like the real deal. Very friendly and accomodating. Favorite gluten-free spot in the area!
Fantastic! Why have I just discovered these now?? You wouldn't know it's gluten free and in my opinion even better than the real deal!!
The rugalach, the scones, apple tarts, carrot cake - all fantastic and can't have enough of. Feels like grandma's cooking to me!!!
Esti's classic butter cookies and rugalach are delicious! Her gluten free versions of her cookies look just like her regular cookies. They're wholesome and I don't feel like I'm missing out for a minute.
