We eat here almost weekly, and my very sensitive celiac daughter doesn’t get sick. We always specify celiac disease/gluten allergy and confirm when they bring the food. She has had sandwiches, salads, and almost always has the sweet potato fries (which are yummy). They change their gloves and prep GF food in a separate part of the kitchen with a dedicated toaster for GF bread. They have a dedicated fryer for the sweet potato and regular fries. Any other fried items go in a different fryer.
Advertising GF fries, however they fry gluten foods in same fryer so the fries are not GF. Burger came on GF bun but it wasn't safe as it had something on it that was either a crouton or a potato wedge so had to send it back. Disappointed as I really went out of our way to have the Parmesan gf fries, which were not GF.
Heard good things for years about this local chain and its locations, but was always doubtful - how can a chain fast casual non-dedicated "Bakery" do safe separation? Went today with excitement, immediately realized that the pdf I had referenced online for the menu was out of date so no keto bowl. Still, the person taking my order repeated that it would be prepared gluten free. I went with the Cubano bowl. It was an okay bowl of this type but nothing exciting. Within 2 hours, which is on the fast side for me, I'm feeling awful after having cooked for myself the past few meals - all the usual CC symptoms - and this level of getting sick sets my digestive health back a few days. If I had to guess: nobody checking if they really are gf beans from the manufacturer? Shared grill surface for the (burnt) plantains? Unsafe practices cutting veggies for the pico de gallo or sliced avocado? Yuck. Maybe the fries are safer, but verify dedicated fryer before you order.
Please be careful at this very cute restaurant! While it is run by the Udi's family, it is not totally gluten-free. They do have a dedicated fryer for their fries and they do have a dedicated toaster; however the kitchen is combined. I ate there this afternoon and I was glutened. I am paying for it now! For a person without Celiac, it is very nice!
Udi's has been Etai's for quite some time now. We love eating at Etai's. We have 4 kids and all four love it there (it's rare to get them to agree on a place to eat). We love the fried chicken served with mashed potatoes and coleslaw. My girls love the corn tortilla quesadilla with a side of fresh fruit. My husband orders a French dip on gluten free bread. We all love the french fries! They have dedicated fryers and are very aware of dietary needs. We've eaten there over 10 times and never have had an issue, not even a cross-contamination headache!
Name has changed to Etai's but great gluten free options. Management is very aware of gluten free issues and it is the best.
Now called etai's. Very good selection for gluten, dairy, & soy free. Very helpful staff. Loved my burger & fries!
I'm in Denver on my honeymoon and was so excited to see that Udis has cafe here. When I arrived I was so happy to get some GF breakfast. Instead I got sent back to a grocery store. They had no bagels or muffins. Told me I can buy a huge loaf of gf bread for 12$. I will never buy they product again even if I'm dying if hunger
Paid the 1.50 for GF option to get back to the hotel to find they put it on regular bread. The potato salad was good. I was also able to buy bread and muffins from their refrigerator section. I will have to check my order next time, but the options were there and I will give it another try.
Love it here. Lots of vegetarian and gluten free choices.
Being newly diagnosed, I have many questions while dining out. Udi's staff was knowledgable and helpful and I had so many choices. The falafel and hummus is delicious and the comfort of not worrying about getting sick is huge. Yay Udi's.!! I will eat here often.
I have two kiddos with Celiac, so we rarely go out to eat anymore. Went here on Father's Day and had a REALLY good lunch. Thumbs up for the kids GF grilled cheese and french fries from the kids. And, the non-GF sandwiches were really tasty too. Staff was knowledgeable and no gluten reactions from the kids, so this is on our (very short) list of places we'll definitely return to.
Best gluten free hamburger I have ever had. It even rivals non-gluten free burgers! Here gluten free is the norm and non-gluten free options are special. Love it!
