Today I sent my husband in to order a sorbet for me. They have an allergen menu, and the only gluten free-dairy free option is sorbet. The sorbet is in the same container as all the ice cream. When he explained I have a gluten allergy, they didn’t really know what that meant and just scooped the sorbet and then put an ice cream cone on top. Then he had them make a second one without a cone. When he came out he told me what happened and I went back in. I said that usually when I order ice cream or sorbet, this means changing gloves, using a new scoop and scooping from an unopened container in the back. Did they do that? They didn’t speak English very well and stared at me and stared at each other and did nothing. I left with a sorbet we paid for and I didn’t eat.
