Amazing food!!! Gf fish and chips- crispy! Also, I couldn't resist getting the breaded popcorn shrimp. Really enjoyed this meal. Finished it off with lemon cake. Couldn't believe it was gf!! Other options were carrot cake and banana bread. Can't wait to go back and try them all!

Lovely ferry ride from downtown Halifax. A kiosk right at Dartmouth ferry terminal. Good fish... scallops were a bit over cooked. Felt very safe. Did not get sick. Also next to Evans is a small market O’ Bees.....with fabulous gluten free desserts, cookies, etc from a dedicated gf bakery. Very reasonable prices. Enjoyed safe gf desserts for the rest of our cruise.

Like 90% of the menu is gf. Had the lobster poutine, was SUPER good. Partner had fish and chips, we had to go back for tartar sauce but that was the only downside. Can be busy, so expect a small line up!

Amazing!!! 99% of the menu is totally gluten free. Everything in the fryer is GF (fish, scallops, clams, shrimp, fries, onion rings!). They are so careful that even though their chowder is itself made with GF ingredients, they use a spice that is not labeled GF so they say it’s not safe. That’s when you know when they say most of the food is safe it really is. Some staff have celiac and so they are extremely careful not to cross contaminate with their few gluten items. Food was so delicious and staff so friendly and wonderful. Seafood is super fresh and all ingredients are local and fresh (they make their own tartar sauce, honey mustard sauce, relish). They also have 3 GF desserts. Food can be ordered ahead for pick up, or come by and eat inside or outside on their patio with amazing views of the harbour. Will definitely be back.

Found this on the App. Absolutely terrific seafood! So fresh, prepared perfectly. Very nice people.

As far as I could tell, ALL items are/can be GF. The onion rings were very light, and are a treat! Fryers are GF.

Outside seating was closed, and indoors is industrial. Couldn’t care less…I have a new “go to” in the Halifax/Dartmouth area.

Everything tastes amazing and it is ALL gluten free, beautiful outdoor patio on the water and all the staff are amazing.

I was surprised to find that Evan's is strictly a takeaway place, with tables in the general mall space. But the fish & chips were excellent! It was comforting to hear just how serious they are about gluten, and ALL of the battered fish and seafood are gluten-free. They also offer gluten-free dessert (carrot cake, anyone?) but I was too full to try it.

A great place for a casual lunch or dinner where ambiance is not important.

Staff were super knowledgeable about Celiac and had measures in place to care for my gluten-free needs. We ordered the fish and chips with tartar sauce, and a slice of the blueberry citrus cake. It was indescribably fantastic!! The food was so good we got a carrot cake for the road, which was equally delicious. I highly recommend a visit to any Celiac. Nathan makes delicious cakes, and can make a GF cake if you provide 24hrs or more notice. Will absolutely visit again!

There are only a couple of items on their menu that are not gluten free. This is the only place I have found gluten free fried clams and fish. Great place for gluten free seafood.

Went here just for the onion rings, but got scallops too and it was perfect. The people I went with aren't celiacs and they said they couldn't even tell the difference.

We were late arriving and they were about to close up but when we told them that we had crossed fro Halifax specially because they had great gluten free fish & chips, they agree to serve us. Excellent! Apparently their deep fryer never sees gluten and almost everything is made gluten free. Lots of options. Really delicious. Very knowledgeable. Highly recommend.
