All we can say is… Absolutely Fabulous! My mother is coeliac and they could not have been more accommodating to offering Gluten-Free. It is so lovely to have a place that caters for this. Mum has always enjoyed Pie and Mash but unfortunately has not been able to eat it for 7 years due to her diagnosis. She thoroughly enjoyed it and will now be a regular customer. Thank you to the staff! We would thoroughly recommend that you try this.

Fabulous meal of a beef mince and soya mince savory pies. We loved the flavors, needed dairy free, in addition to gluten free and it was tasty, filling and we can’t wait to visit again. Great find in the middle of Bishop’s Stortford!

Absolutely supreme gluten free pies. If you’ve ever had the pleasure of eating a proper east end pie and mash- the gluten free ones taste the exact same as the normal ones.

WOW WOW & WOW!!!! I can’t believe I’ve just eaten pie, mash & liquor for the first time in almost 30 years. After being diagnosed coeliac, dairy, soy, fruit & all tree nut allergies I thought the next time I’d eat pie, mash & liquor would be my last meal! After reading F.Cooke of Bishop’s Stortford can make it gluten & vegan my sister & I decided to try. With all my allergies I was very anxious & thought it would take a couple of hours for me to eat, that wasn’t the case, my mind was put at rest be the lovely staff, it actually didn’t take us long to eat & was exactly how we remembered it. We’ll definitely be regulars from now on.

I can’t recommend F.Cooke of Bishop’s Stortford enough for making such delicious food & putting us at ease & lovely friendly staff.

Having read sparkling reviews of F.Cooke’s

GF pies and mash,

I decided to give it a go.

I am so pleased to report the whole experience was absolutely excellent.

Not only was GF food amazing the best GF pastry I’ve ever tasted.

But the girls serving us in the shop were a pleasure and so comforting knowing they all knew so much about how to serve GF.

A visit is an absolute must.

Having grown up eating pie and mash in London, we were thrilled when F.Cookes opened in Bishops Stortford. Especially as I am gluten intolerant and not had pie and mash for years! The staff are so friendly, the food is yummy and I was pleased that the pastry texture was still really good even though it was GF. That with chili vinegar.........yum.

Gluten free pies are made separately to the rest of the business. Always made to order - choice of standard meats, chicken n mushrooms or meat free option. The traditional meat version is my favourite, really tasty highly recommended. Always order when in the area.
