Review of Fala Bar

When I went to the counter to order, I was assured that the establishment is "perfect" for people with celiac disease. That the entire place is GF, just the pita and buns have gluten so they said they consider themselves to be entirely gluten free. Said they're also nut free, too. I don't know if all of that should have been a red flag for me, but I felt sure they knew what they were doing. I went back to pick up my food and saw that the chef, who was very busy, did everything with his gloved hands. Including touching pita on the griddle nonstop. So he'd touch the pita, wipe his hands on a rag, then handles the falafel with the same hands. I went back and said I was really anxious about their prep. The guy who took my order told me that despite our combo, he didn't note glove change or no pita. So my wait turned into 20+ minutes instead of 10. And this food isn't cheap. It was around $17 for the fala plate and $9 for the fries. Service wasn't great and I still worry I'll get sick. I would skip it. Then again, the food is excellent, so if you are really explicit, may be worth it.
