if been there yesterday and when i ask for gluten free the stuff aks directly if im celiac this gave me a very safe feeling. He showed me the menu and told me what i can eat and what they are changing about it.The chef changes his gloves to make my food. Would recommend it
This place is SO good that we ended up going twice. They were very clear on what can be gluten free, and then asked if I’m celiac. When I said yes, he said he could do the fries in a separate fryer. The falafels are crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. The best I’ve had. The fries are more like cut potatoes but again, crispy outside and tender inside. I loved the falafel bowl with hummus, yogurt sauce, lettuce and tomatoes the best.
I had amazing gluten free falafels with some salad, it was really nice. The service was great, the kindest lady assured me of the safety of the place, she even asked me herself if I’m coeliac! Not everything is gluten free there but they are happy to accommodate, they cleaned the area and changed the gloves It was lovely and at a really good price for something gluten free on the go while walking around Fira!
The Falafels were incredible! Best I’ve ever had and so moist! My husband is celiac and had no issues with their Giant box which came with 6 falafels and a nice Greek salad! Very knowledgeable!
AMAZING and safe place for falafel! We honeymooned in Fira for 5 days and I had Falafeland for dinner for 3 of those days. It was DELICIOUS and a safe place to eat for Celiacs. I had the falafel but in a salad (no wrap) with the potatoes - all in a separate (and celiac safe) fryer. It was SUCH an amazing experience and affordable option for dinner. HIGHLY recommend if you’re on the island of Santorini! Will definitely be coming back.
They can make any of the wrap meals as a salad however they need to remove the fried eggplant to be fully gluten free. Amazing food though !
Despite the best intentions of the staff (they were very understanding and accommodating), my partner and I both had mild symptoms when eating here. Like most "fast casual" places, the tongs, spoons, etc. are constantly touching various forms of bread and being dipped into the various sauces, vegetables, etc. Might be safe for celiac if you ask for clean tongs and avoid things like hummus and baba ganoush. The falafel was absolutely delicious though.
Finding vegan gluten-free food when traveling can be challenging. We were so happy to find this restaurant. The staff was so friendly and helpful. The restaurant does serve wheat based pita chips and feta cheese but the staff had a clear understanding of the needs of gluten-free and vegan patrons. We did wish they had lemons or lemon juice available as we tend to like our tahini sauce and our hummus made with lemon juice but this is a minor issue. Overall Falafeland is an excellent choice for very reasonably priced and satisfying food in Fira.
