Ugh. You guys, this was one of the most stressful lunches I've had in a long time. I almost left the restaurant. Maybe I should have. Several menu items that are marked GF come w/ the "multi-grain rice". Thank God I asked what is in the multi-grain rice & I asked specifically about barley. I almost fed that rice to my kid!!! Both the multi-grain rice AND the five grain rice have barley. The waitress had no clue that barley was not GF. They did not have plain brown or white rice. They finally said they could give me mung bean noodles & asked me if that was ok. It was lunch time so the meal did come w/ a smoothie (I got the veggie, it was very astringently green flavored, yuck, but healthy I guess) & a soup. They told me the soup was GF but it had lots of mysterious grain & seed like things floating in it so I was afraid to eat it. I got the peppered steak cubes & they brought it out with the sauce on the side & the mung bean noodles on a separate plate. They stir fried the noodles w/ oil, garlic, spinach & tomatoes. The steak & noodles were delicious. My sister said the sauce was delicious, but again, I didn't trust that they actually knew what GF was so I didn't eat the sauce. It was really dark brown... The portions were big. I think they might have charged me $2 extra for getting noodles instead of rice. I'm not sure. There was a $2 misc charge on my check. My sister had the grilled portabello mushroom, which was also supposed to be GF. The food was all delicious, except the smoothies. I love that they use organic & good quality ingredients, but I don't think they understand what gluten is. I wouldn't go back & at this time I wouldn't recommend it to anyone w/ Celiac or gluten intolerance. So sad. I really wanted it to work.
