They only had one item on the menu that was gluten free and it was soup.

The soup was good but it wasn’t enough for an entire meal.

The staff was very knowledgeable and looked out for me and my celiac. I ordered the Salmon and mashed potatoes. When the waitress brought the dessert menu, she had already checked prior about which ones are gluten free. I got the peanut butter one

They have gf items marked on their menu but I’ve tried eating there 3 times and felt glutened every time from ordering any of those items. Just went the other day and I’ve got very sick from the half chicken plate. Never going back. The chef is cross contaminating or doesn’t follow protocol for people who need it to be gluten free.

I require GF and DF choices and was told the crab cakes were safe. What an option! Yum! Also, the french fries are cooked in a dedicated fryer. It was an awesome meal and my server was very knowledgeable and attentive, even on a busy night. I will definitely be back!

Just finished dinner Fat Hen. I had "The Rib" the best bbq short ribs have had in years. The meat was fall off the bone tender. This place is awesome and very gluten free friendly. Best meal we had in Charleston. This is a must stop.

My favorite restaurant in all of Charleston. Amazing food, service, and atmosphere. Located in Johns Island, not far from Downtown. Staff is well trained. I get The Rib, which is short ribs with BBQ sauce and the fries are made in a dedicated fryer. Also have crab cakes that are gf! They've won all kinds of awards. No reservations unless 6 or more. But You must must go here!

BEST RESTAURANT EVER!!! I had ribs, fries and creamed corn, they were the best ribs I have ever had, they literally fell right off the bone and the flavor was perfect. They had a separate fryer for gluten free fries and they were cooked and seasoned perfectly, the corn was so fresh and delicious. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable about gluten, and the place was so cute. I'm going back for my birthday! The only downside is it's VERY pricy, but worth it for a special occasion.

Only thing not offered was GF bread. Enjoyed fresh local tilefish and veggies. A bit noisy in dining room, but great food.

Their gluten free menu was great. It was part of the regular menu and just had stars beside the GF items. We had the coq au vin, the flounder nicoise, and the duck confit. All of them were excellent and GF. The waitress did bring this lovely piece of bread to the table because she hadn't realized we were gluten free, but took it away as soon as she realized. Their homemade lemonade was delicious as well. Our visit to charleston and it's surrounding areas has been fabulous. We come from Texas, and there is a general dearth of great GF options there, so we will be returning to charleston as often as we can, simply because the food is so much friendlier to us here. Awesome.
