Went here for Valentine’s Day. Soon as we got there we were asked if anyone had allergens the staff went through the menu to what was and wasn’t GF within 5 mins the manager came over and asked if we wanted to order drinks and which ones where GF food was ordered recalled back to us stating what the GF wouldn’t include on the upgraded dirty fries I ordered food came hot had a very pleasant experience in and out within 30-45mins

Moat berries and cherries cider
Will defo be returning again soon
They always send a manager over to take the order. The gluten free meal is given out first to ensure its the correct one. The bun looks different and after a few times you can tell which is yours. The staff are so well informed
Both my kids are coeliac so very aware of what to look out for. This place is FAB! Great atmosphere, great food, very aware of allergies and food prepared separately. Definitely recommend.

Very friendly, lovely burger and gluten free frier for the chips. Kurtis was very reassuring that gluten free was no problem and explained what was safe.
Can’t praise the member of staff (maybe the manager?) who talked me through the whole menu because there was no signal for my phone to pick up the allergen QR code. He made recommendations and I felt really safe with everything as his knowledge re allergens was excellent.
The food was delicious! The trash hash browns with bacon and lactose free cheese were an absolute winner. I don’t eat a lot of red meat, but because I love a sweet / savoury / spicy / tangy combo I had the beef burger with peanut butter and chilli jam - it was fabulous! The gluten free bun was really good quality too.

Went today for the first time, definitely wasn’t disappointed, my friend made the booking and as soon as she said the name, they asked who was gluten free, once we sat the waiter told me what I could have and couldn’t, I got a sloppy something, double patty with short rib meat, hand cut chips and we shared a coleslaw, my bun was tiny compared to my friends, but it help together well, and it was pretty good, the Pattie’s were lovely, chips and slaw was gorgeous as well, next time I will ask for some to bring home. My friend got a burger with tater tots on, it also looked gorgeous and can also be made gluten free.
Had a lovely meal last night at The Fat Hippo. They asked me if anyone had allergies as they sat me down, they explained what I was able to eat being coeliac and were very knowledgeable. We ordered our meal and really enjoyed the burger & fries. I would definitely go again and found the prices reasonable. Staff were brilliant too. Thank you !
Service was amazing. As soon as I got there I was asked if there were any allergies. Once seated was directed to roughly half the menu that could be done gluten free. I ordered the tater tots and american burger, which were both great!
Great restaurant & great staff. Very aware of coeliac requirements. I always enjoy fries as quite often we can’t have them. Would highly recommend.

Great GF options! Safe place to eat. Although one time I ordered a burger that should have come with an onion ring on, and was not corrected that this was not GF friendly, so my burger came without it on.
Very clued up place. Was sat near the kitchen and could see the table board had our table with a gf symbol beside it. Servers very helpful with what i could and could not have and chips available with a separate frier. Vegan cheese available and a vegan gf burger. There is hope in the world when you are gf and avoid cheese! Trash browns portion was huge and delicious Estrella galicia gf beer available Bun was small but tasty with the vegan burger and the fries very tasty I will be back. Was never made to feel like i was different or difficult, nothing was a bother and the staff fantastic Website is terrible and makes it look like its impossible to eat here but its not.
I love this place, never had any reaction whatsoever. Burger buns are lovely .... alot smaller than none gf but that's ok as taste amazing.
Fantastic service! They have a really good understanding of the problems with cross contamination and cleaned the kitchen space before preparing the gf burger. The burger was the best I had in years. Highly recommended!
People were great, asked straight off if had allergy and menu was explained by the manager. Food was great and all burgers could be done gluten free. However…. I ordered the fat hippo burger gluten free,and got glutened, but not too severely.
Best guess… the burger came without onions rings and with a gluten free bun, đź‘Ť but the chorizo was probably not gluten free, just can’t think what else it might have been that…
Not as bad an attack as usual and food was still lovely for me and my friends, so still very much recommend - just maybe stay clear of chorizo…

Service was excellent, the greeter asked upon arrival if we had any allergies and then talked me through what I could have on the menu. They have a lot to choose from as most of the menu is gluten free. They also have a dedicated gluten free fryer, so I felt very safe and welcome.
Gluten free buns for burgers, informed staff ask about allergies when you walk in the door, waiting staff explained that fries etc are cooked in a dedicated gluten free frier, very happy
There's a good gluten-free selection, and a lot of the normal menu can be requested gluten free.
