The food is great here (especially the GF pita!) and we have never been glutened over several visits in all, but I have felt nervous each time. Here’s why: the staff is reassuring about CC practices — but vague about them at the same time. I’m still not really sure of their protocols beyond using a barrier in the oven while toasting pita. Once I had gluten-containing items bagged with GF items (albeit they were wrapped up and did not touch food to food, but I had asked for a separate bag). Bottom line — if you want to go here, do enjoy, and do expect to be safe, but you may feel anxious if you try to engage with specificity about whatever their cross-contact procedures are.
We stopped in here close to closing (they close at 7pm) and ordered two GF wraps and some dolmas. Our order was about $50 because of the up charge ($4-5 per wrap) for the GF bread. The food was good, particularly the bread, which was plush. (Bread has dairy in it.) But not sure this would be a regular visit for us due to the high cost for take out (there’s only three stools in a window, no other interior seating).
This place is a hidden gem for celiacs and their partners. My girlfriend is celiac, highly reactive to gluten, and we both had different types of shawarma with GF pita and it was just delicious. All wraps can be made GF and most entrees. Super reasonable prices and fresh food. First time she’s had Pita in 15 years. Staff were incredibly nice and reassuring that they take all necessary precautions.
I never write reviews and have been feeling guilty about keeping this gem (mostly) to myself; it hasn’t been mentioned nearly enough in the MA GF community. After reading the great reviews here, I decided to check out Fattoush and was absolutely blown away, not only by the amazing food but the incredible kindness and detail to GF from the staff. Although we all tend to lose our GF minds over a dedicated fryer (which is the case at Fattoush: it is my understanding there are French fries and falafel in the fryer only), the big draw are their wraps, which are fluffy, hold together and are unlike any GF wraps I’ve ever had. I thought the food was incredible so I brought my non-GF Armenian boyfriend the next time and he was blown away too! We now go every week. My favorites: falafel wrap, chicken shawarma wrap and lahmajoun (“Armenian pizza”). They also have lots of GF sides at the counter and the staff are always eager to answer any allergy questions. To note, this is mostly a take-out establishment with a few seats at the window and a table outdoors in warmer months. Enjoy!
I stopped in and was so surprised that they had so many great options for GF! I was only looking for a snack so had the beet hummus and GF pita bread. It was a huge piece of bread and so delicious! I couldn’t believe they even had a bread option, and it was actually delicious. Can’t wait to go back and try the falafel.
Fattoush was awesome! As soon as we mentioned having celiac, the very nice man who took our order and cooked the food reassured us that there would be no cross contamination!! Got the falafel wrap and it was amazing!!! Have been twice with no issues and will keep coming back for more.
I was in the area and decided to give Fattoush a try based on the reviews. As it turns out, that was a fantastic idea. The gluten free falafel wrap was so good I didn’t notice until halfway through it was dripping all over me!! It was SO good. I got a side of just the gf bread and it was so big and wonderful.
The woman who took my order was super friendly and helpful.
I wish I lived closer by; I definitely recommend!!
