This place has a great GF and GFO menu, but staff don’t know to serve CD guests. I asked for the GF menu, and my waiter brought me the same menu. I looked it up on their website and it was significantly different. That was concerning. I ordered for a gluten allergy and the waiter didn’t write down orders, for a party of six, which was concerning. A different waiter brought me my plate and it had hush puppies on it. I told him that wasn’t my order because I have a gluten allergy and he told me to just pick them off. I sent it back fearful that would happen in the kitchen. I eventually did get the correct order short a side, which I ate and didn’t feel immediately sick. So I think I might have gotten lucky, except I’m bloated and can’t sleep now.
They have a gf menu that has a variety of options on it. The staff seemed very knowledgeable on dealing with food allergies. I am also dairy free, so they were still able to were still willing to work with me. I ordered the grilled salmon with capers, steamed broccolini and balsamic green beans. The food was delicious. The manager came by confirmed the allergies and had the cook use a clean pan. I will definitely visit when we are back in town.
I really enjoyed my dish, but my husband's dish was kind of puny. I hit a huge seafood platter though that cost $34.99, but it was a really big meal. The waitress was only so so on her knowledge of gluten free food safety and prep, but they did have a real nice gluten free menu with a lot of options. I didn't feel restricted like with a lot of restaurants.
Not a lot of choices but the salmon, quinoa, kale salad was extremely good! So was the vanilla ice cream. Would love to see more dessert options in the future too!
Good selection, with many options to get grilled or blackened seafood, instead of fried. We've eaten here for years, and it's nice to find that they have a gf menu! Like the other review says, it can be noisy, if you don't go during off hours. That's just the style of place. There's a well-stocked bar on one side of the restaurant with multiple screens, almost invariably showing sports.
Wonderful experience! Shrimp tacos are delicious
When we arrived I asked for and was given a separate GF menu. They asked if it was our first time there and when we said yes, they brought us each a “sampler platter” with a few small tastings: little tasting cups of four soups (jalapeño, clam chowder, gumbo, and something else I can’t remember) and an oyster nacho. All were on the same plate. The guy sat this plate down in front of me and said the only two things with gluten were the gumbo and the nacho. So I’m sitting there staring at food on my plate that they know I can’t eat. Furthermore, the GF menu only listed the clam chowder as GF not the other two soups the guy said I could have. Between the fact that they put gluten food on my plate and the inconsistency between what they gave me and the menu, I decided not to try anything my on this tasting plate. My husband (not GF) gleefully ate everything on my plate in addition to his own and was very happy with all of it! 😁 For the meal I ordered the shrimp with mashed potatoes and spinach. I confirmed with the server that it was gluten free and prepared separately. The food tasted good. They gave us several coupons for 20% off at subsequent visits, which was nice.
