Clam chowder is incredible! Such a nice warm welcome to Boston!
Very busy food markets, hard to move around and see what’s available. This place advertised GF chowder on the sign which was helpful. My husband’s chowder came in a lovely bread bowl with crackers, mine (GF) in a polystyrene cup with no sides, not so attractive and I felt slightly robbed! Saying that, the soup was really good, lots of potato and pieces of clam, nice and peppery.
What a great find! Had gluten free chowder the first day, my husband is not gf but thought it was as good or better than regular chowder. Went back and tried the bacon wrapped scallops and coleslaw. Super easy and quick, and the server was so nice to put my husbands crackers in a separate bag!
Hope others will support this location so I can have chowder when we come back in future!
They even have bread bowls for gluten loving customers!
Got the bacon wrapped scallops and the chowder. Both delicious. Since it's inside Quincy Market and kind of food court style, I was VERY nervous. The employees weren't wanting to talk through the whole CC subject, they just kept repeating and pointing "Gluten free. Gluten free" So I trusted other reviewers and sure enough, no glutening!
This is the only business at Quincy Hall that makes their chowder fresh from scratch and they use cornstarch instead of flour. I haven't had a really good chowder in ages and their clam chowder was definitely delicious. It is not a gluten-free facility but they do offer a gluten-free chowder in addition to bacon-wrapped scallops which were also very good and cheaper than most other places selling the same thing in Quincy Market. next time I'm in Boston I'm coming back for the chowder!
