Just went today (Match 12, 2024) and was advised fries are no longer gluten free. Very disappointing.

I have had great experiences at Five Guys. The fries are delicious and I really enjoy the lettuce wrapped burgers or sometimes just do the burger in a bowl with no bun. I wish their online ordering app had a spot to mention an allergy though.

I had a great experience. I was reassured that precautions would be taken. The flavour of the burger on a lettuce wrap was ok. Dedicated fryer .

I was interested in trying the fries. Asked the lady at the front counter if they are indeed gluten free, she had no idea what the words meant (really?!). She asked someone else, who looked shocked and said "the fries? No!!"
So.....either their staff is incredibly poorly trained or the website lies......

Lady taking the order wasn’t aware of Celiac, but did announce it was an allergen so extra precautions were taken. They have fries in a dedicated frier. They don’t offer a gf bun, but have the option of a lettuce bun. I had fried and a burger with no signs of being glutened.

Staff Knowledge of celiac/safety - 5.5
Variety of options - 4
Taste, flavor, texture - 8
Atmosphere - 5
Staff friendliness/helpfulness - 6
Symptoms after? - No
Price - $$ ($20-$30 per person, relatively expensive and not great bang for buck)
Bathrooms - Yes
Other allergies/dietary requirements accomodated? - None specifically
Would I recommend? - Yes but it is not a must visit
General Comments - The burgers have to be ordered in a lettuce wrap, request a clean of the surface and fresh utensils as well as new gloves. Staff told me the fries were safe as they are cut fresh in store daily and are fried in a dedicated fryer with a nut oil. Best to avoid milkshakes as some toppings they add are not GF and may result in CC.

Offer their burgers in a lettuce wrap or a foil bowl. Fries are gluten free and done in a designated fryer. Staff asked if it was an allergy to inform cooks to change gloves

Said they could do celiac safe, but prep was poor, they wrapped my lettuce burger on top a pile of bun crumbs, they used separate gloves and were careful, but not careful enough, I’m vomiting so hard right now. Don’t risk it.

They do lettuce wraps and their patties don’t have any fillers!
