My husband and I stopped in here for a quick lunch while exploring beautiful Cardiff. We checked with the young man at the counter about their GF protocols and items because we weren't sure if they are the same as in the U.S. He quickly pulled out an ingredients list and showed me. It's the same as the U.S.! Service was great! When my husband ordered grilled onions, the young man even pointed out that those are cooked on the same grill as their buns, so they're not GF. We were thankful for that!I saved the receipt because I wanted to share the young man's name and show that it had "Allergy Protocol" or something like that on it, but I now have no idea where that receipt is! But he was friendly, helpful, and truly happy to help us out.Celiac safe! A great choice for when you want to eat quickly and get back to strolling through Cardiff rather than spending a lot of time in a restaurant.

Burgers served in crispy lettuce, fries cooked separately and my meal was prepared away from others. Very impressed with the knowledge and understanding of cross contamination.

Clear allergen label, most of the main menu is GF except for the buns and some of the fried toppings.

Very aware of allergens. They have an allergy menu at the till you can check. The chips, burger patty, and hotdog are gluten free but the buns aren’t. You can get bunless with toppings and have it and a burger bowl instead. (Not all toppings are gf so double check them)
They also have a warning to alert staff to allergies so they’ll be extra careful with your order.
Didn’t think I could miss getting overpriced takeaway chips so much but here we are.

All burgers are cooked on a dedicated grill so no gluten touches them, all the fries are in dedicated fryers and the staff are very knowledgeable. The Grilled toppings aren't coeliac safe as they're done on the same grill as the buns, but the staff warned us of this when we ordered.
No GF bread or buns are available but the burgers can be served either in a bowl or Lettuce wrapped.

I'm late to the Five Guys party. I think it's become quite the ubiquitous burger joint across the UK now, but living overseas means that this has passed me by. I was delighted to see that they had GF options on the menu so jumped in for my first go.
It's always awkward when you go somewhere for the first time and, based on your accent, people assume you are a local and know how things work. This was my experience in Five Guys. Their GF burger is actually a bun-less burger but I got all flustered at the ordering point and didn't quite know what would be coming out to greet me.
Being able to get GF "fast food" is always a real treat for me as it's just not possible in France. So, this was a great experience. I'm not a huge fan of the bunless burger per se, but this filled a hole and tasted good.
Verdict: Pretty standard issue fast food. Great to have GF options available. Good to know it exists but it probably wouldn't be my first choice in an eat-on-the-go situation.
