I had the fish and chips, and they were very good! It was such a treat to eat fish and chips because I haven’t been able to eat them since having to eat gluten free.
When I asked about cross-contamination, they assured me that they have many people with Celiacs regularly eat here.
I didn’t try this, but for burgers they have Udi’s gluten free buns and lettuce wraps as an option.
Great burgers. Dedicated fryer. They seem very attentive to cross contamination prevention. We had one GF burger and one regular - when the server brought the food over, the two burgers were next to each other and the buns were slightly touching. Before I could say anything, she noticed herself and proceeded to switch out the GF bun. We really appreciated not having to say anything and felt safe. Husband (celiac) really enjoyed his burger and also tried the chicken tenders. Everything was delicious. Definitely recommend this place.
I called, and they said they couldn’t do anything like gluten free.....
Great GF practices taken with care. Only gluten containing items are buns and malt powder one would add to the milk shakes. Gf buns available. Good local cheese available which is a great sign, and good prices too. Employee (brother of owner?)taking my order has celiac and uses safe practices by isolating prep area and surfaces. Not well advertised GF on website etc. to keep antigluten naysayers away, so a great kept secret I didn't know was an viable option in Ashland. Definitely a comeback! Great service!
Passing through Ashland and saw the reviews on this app. Flip did not disappoint. I had the burger on a GF bun. Best GF bun I have ever had. The burger itself was so yummy! Comes with a burger sauce. No ketchup or mustard required. The fries are dedicated and so, so good. If ever coming back to Ashland, I would eat here again in a heartbeat!
Amazing food and great service. The owner has celiac disease and most of the dishes are gluten free. The fryer is dedicated gluten free. Separate prep areas and grill areas. The kitchen is small, but you can see everything being prepared in front of you. We got chicken and waffles (a fried chicken sandwich with gluten free waffles as the outside), fish and chips which was all gluten free, a hamburger with gluten free bun and fries, and a pulled pork sandwich- this one had a regular bun but we could have swapped it out and it too would have been gluten free. The pulled pork & chicken and waffles had a delicious candied jalapeños topping. Wish we lived closer so we could eat here all of the time!
The fact that they serve GF burgers with a lettuce wrap and not buns aside, this place has darn-good food. I'm boring and got a plain GF burger with a vanilla milkshake and an order of fries -- which are made in a dedicated fryer. (Image attached incase you're into that sort of thing) - The "meal" was super filling and reasonably priced. (My cut was about $15) - It's a small, hole-in-the wall style place, so seating is limited, but when we went there was only one other person the whole time. (7-7:30ish) ((pm)) Service was fast and the two guys working were very friendly. - As far as celiac-safety goes, I'm unfortunately asymptomatic so am therefore of no help, but they seemed to be knowledgable / careful about cross-contamination. So there's that. - Overall, it's a solid 4 stars from me. (1 point taken off because I don't know for sure about the cross-contamination)
No GF buns but they do a delicious lettuce wrap. And if you remind them, they ensure the burger is cooked on a different part of the grill from where they hear up the wheat buns. And, only fries are fried in the fryer!!
