I went to Fortina last night. It is hard for me to recommend this place based on how filthy the bathroom was and the fact that I had a fruit fly around me throughout my meal. That being said, my gluten free pie came out separately from everyone else’s (gluten filled) meals. It was on a different type of tray than a regular pie. The crust was good. I didn’t love my pizza because I ordered a margherita and there was basically no cheese. So if you want more of a typical cheese pie, you would order the Ray’s. I won’t be rushing back.
Seemed safe, they said GF pizza is cooked in a separate oven. GF pizza is “Sicilian” which translates to focaccia like thick bread pizza. Non-GF pasta was OK - not spectacular, but also not bad. Solid choice for a GF safe meal. One note - some GF items are marked on the menu, but even though they offer it, the GF pizza and GF pasta were not marked. When asked, the server immediately said yes and informed of the separate oven and that she would “mark the order as celiac allergy”.
We had a great lunch at Fortina. The manager was very knowledgeable about allergy precautions and helped guide us to the menu items that are safe. There are plenty of GF options and many pasta dishes are able to be made with GF pasta. We enjoyed the GF Sicilian pizza, pasta with lemon butter and roasted carrots with honey, chili and ricotta. Highly recommended- we will definitely be back!
The gf pizza is incredible! It is Sicilian style which is very unique. Gotta try the The LB!! 10/10
Wish I took a photo of the amazing Sicilian slice of pizza we had last night. My son has a very sensitive reaction to many gf pizzas, we were excited and nervous to try it but he didn’t get sick and it was incredible! Thick and crusty (home-made with corn flour) you would never know it was gluten free. They followed all safe protocols. We also had a gf fusilli dish that was excellent. The manager was so helpful and reassuring.
