We have been long time customers of Francescas. We went at Christmas and the menu has been changed. I won’t go back. I’m very sad as this was my favorite place. There is no decent gluten free Italian food on the south side anymore. And to top it off my noodles weren’t completely cooked. Some of them were rock hard.
We have been to Francesca's (on 95th) numerous times over the years and have never had bad reactions. Their menu changes somewhat frequently and they do have a GF menu. They are VERY accommodating and nearly all of the regular menu can be made GF as well. Service is exemplary and we will continue to visit in the future.
This is one of my favorite restaurants and I was very pleased to know that they have a gluten-free menu. I recently found out that I am intolerant to gluten and it has been hard to find good menus to choose from. They have a really good gluten-free bread that looks like a pita bread. And a big selection in the gluten-free menu.
Waiter had to double check if pasta is cooked in separate water (it is), so staff are not super aware. Pasta was not the best I've ever had, but not the worst either. However, dessert was DELICIOUS, I licked the plate clean. I have Celiac and did not get sick, so definitely a good stop if you're craving pasta and in the area. For sure stop for dessert, and order the Torta Lava!
The server was very accommodating in getting me a gluten free menu and making suggestions. The pasta was good, but very expensive for a very small portion.
As I walked in, I asked for a gluten-free menu and while they didn’t have one, the host immediately knew what was safe and what wasn’t and assured me they could make any pasta gluten free (with penne). Waiter also understood cross-contamination very well. I ate here with two people who had nut allergies and the waiter was on top of cross-contamination about that as well. They wanted to order a fried appetizer, and he told us they could grill the appetizer instead to make sure I could eat it too. It was very delicious!
