It’s like 90% safe, which for me isn’t good enough but is maybe fine for some of y’all. They warned me when ordering that there’s mild cross contamination that many people are fine with, and I agree with that assessment. But I’m very sensitive and I probably wouldn’t choose the mild reaction I’m feeling now again

Food and service was not good, but I had no reaction here and had the Achiote chicken, beans, sweet potatoes, rice, chips and salsa/guacamole. Horchata too. Just let them know you’re celiac and they can make a note of it and have them avoid cross contamination.

I went to Fresa’s for the first time yesterday. The place is great, very cool looking inside and out. The margaritas were awesome. I was assured the chips were gluten free and cooked by themselves and assure that “almost everything on the menu can be gluten free”. I confirmed that the tacos were completely gluten free and all could be done with corn tortillas. Sadly 1.5 hours later (my usual window for a reaction), I was sick and could tell I had been glutened. My gut instinct is that it was a bad case of cross contamination where the corn and flour tortillas were warmed together. I know I also didn’t get as detailed as I should have on asking about the sauces, how the meat was cooked, etc so it could have been that too. I’m very sad I was glutened! The tacos were AMAZING. The chips were awesome. I’m more sad than anything that this happened because I really did like the place and the food a lot. Unfortunately I won’t feel safe going back for more than a drink or a salad
